So, who the hell am I?

Greetings!

You've probably seen my occasional posts here and there in numerous fandoms under various tags.

Finally I got my nerve and decided to do it — time to get to know each other!

I'm Geek Dilettante.

Have 100,500 different interests and hobbies. Sometimes love to share not funny notes.

Unfortunately, I'm not an artist (although I like to call myself a "former artist", despite the fact I quit drawing in high school due to studying).

Make memes, sometimes interesting notes (my own thoughts, reviews, "historical geek references", sometimes a personal diary) and recently montages (edits, AMVs, GMVs, cracks, vines).

Also the author of unpublished stories (plots with my own characters) that exist only in my head, multi-volume Word documents, a few notebooks and online character makers. Something between comics, animations and books.

Main interests — video games, TV shows, cinema, manga, manhwa, manhua, anime, fanarts, memes, painting, screenwriting books, edits, AMVs, cracks, vines and travelling.

🤔 Why exactly geek?

Mainly, it's a nickname from my friends that I got because of my passion for pop and geek culture (mostly video games, but also movies, TV series, anime, comics, manga, manhwa, manhua, webtoons, books, music and a little bit of web novels).

🤨 But why exactly dilettante?

Because usually I do these kind of things:

— TV series, movies, books – "... I'll read the plot on Wikipedia" (but I'll watch one specific and interesting series for me in one go and completely; however, I'll savour it slowly for one specific book),

— anime – "oh, I've heard of it, but haven't seen it / I read the manga / I watched the 1st episode during a one-episode anime marathon" (in my school years I preferred manga over anime, and now — original anime with a few exceptions),

— video games – "I've been watching walkthroughs on YouTube for more than 8 years, so sorry 🥲" (for a long time I didn't have my own computer, and when I finally got one — there was no time for that + distance learning + health issues; buuut I'll still make up for lost time — it's g r e a t to have a memory like a goldfish, especially since as a kid I played like crazy (hello piracy and game discs, ahem); so I consider them as my stash),

— comics – "I can't get my hands on them now, so they're all bookmarked / I don't have time / they're ongoings" (actually, I read a lot of romance manga and some of the most popular titles of the 2010s a looong time ago; so this passion is also my big stash).

Therefore, I'm quite meticulous and selective in choosing titles to r e a l l y watch, read or play.

So yeah, I'm the same person who heard about everything, but in reality watched / read / played very little.

I'm not usually interested in ongoings, but I make occasional exceptions for individual titles.

Recently I finally got around to Dispatch (it's been 3 months, jeez...).

And damn.

Now I can't get the scene where all the characters dance out of my head.

Just see my vision:

- Nice pushes Lin Ling to get him to ask Moon to dance, while Nice himself goes off to dance with Wreck (btw I believe before Treeman Nice danced in the Just Dance style: he and Wreck played it all the time; personal headcanon, nevermind);

- Xia Qing takes turns dancing with Yang Cheng, Shang Chao and her brother;

- the DOS trio dances with each other, but additionally Lucky Cyan with Luo, Queen with her father and Big Johnny with Little Johnny;

- Luoli dances with Nuonuo, as does Ghostblade with his daughter 💔;

- Ghostblade additionally dances with his wife, why not;

- Xin Ya spins Ahu around in her arms;

- Dragon Boy quietly drinks a beer, but then also goes to dance;

- X is somewhere in the background hanging out with Smile, Nine and the tarot card girl.

okay but. if we take this chart. that means. since, you know, the dandelion seeds are now spread everywhere. we get to see many many more Nices? phobiaclone Nice? fearclone Nice?

Actually I see the dandelion seeds more as a symbol of spreading belief, hope in one's own strength and the courage to pursue personal wishes among OTHER heroes. "Be who you are".

Or, in more literal reading: Nice is what heroes might become if they never question the hero industry. Both a warning and a catalyst for change for others at the same time. Something like that.

But like I said before, I read dandelion as a positive symbol for Nice: transformation, resilience, survival, childhood wishes that come true, healing (both emotional and physical)...

There are many interpretations of Nice's main musical theme, but in that context the lyrics "'Cause you are the teacher / Shine like a sapphire to guide us / Wisdom is just in your nature" sounds kinda interesting 👀

But maybe I'm just too hopeful about Nice though 😅

Funny. It's been a few months since the show ended, but still sometimes try to collect my thoughts, ideas and "speculation scenarios" from my stupidly big Word file + some occasional screenshots + some interesting old notes and details from other authors from Tumblr/Twitter/Reddit in my spare time (I just like reading other people's thoughts and opinions).

Not that scary but there is still a lot of work to do. Mostly doing it for my own fun though.

Guys, I need help with the timeline. I want to check something.

Has anyone tried to calculate at least roughly HOW LONG Lin Ling's arc lasts, starting from Nice's "death" (or even from the Ahu Incident) and ending with the 21st tournament?

It's just if you watch the first 4 Ep., the series constantly shows "one week later", "one week later", "15 days left until the 21st heroes tournament" and so on.

Was thinking about this so, to put some things into perspective.... because it's pretty crazy.

By year 41 AC, in order from longest hero career to shortest:

Ghostblade joined MG at 18 years old, has been a hero for 22 years.

Little Johnny joined FOMO at 9, has been a hero for 18 years.

Queen joined DOS at 14, has been a hero for 13 years.

Dragon boy… we don't know exactly when he joined MG but it was around 34 AC so. Joined MG at around 16 years old, has been a hero for around 7 years.

Nice joined Treeman at 18 years old, has been a hero for 7 years.

Lucky Cyan joined DOS at 15 years old, has been a hero for 6 years.

X has been known (with his title) for 5 years, may have had his powers for 7 years (Cyan's coin moment)

Yang Cheng joined MG at 22 years old, has been a hero for 5 years.

Loli joined FOMO at 17 years old, has been a hero for 1 year.

Ahu joined FOMO at 13 years old, just started being a hero that year.

Lin Ling joined Treeman at 21, just started being a hero that year.

The teen hero curse.... and then there's Johnny at 9, and Yang Cheng at 22. People why are you putting your trust on children. The fact that only 4 of them were adults when hired... and I say "adult" but two of them were just fresh 18 year olds.

Wanted to make a post like this too (about how long the characters have been in their heroic careers and when they started), but I just wasn’t sure about the timeline. So I’m really glad someone laid it out.

UPD: Forgot to add.

When I was rewatching the series, I kept thinking that out of all the top 10 heroes, Ghostblade is the most experienced veteran.

And I still find it hilarious that 16-year-old Loli kicked 23-year-old Nice's ass (if I remember correctly).

God, how much time I spent looking for it! I even tried to clean up the audio myself, but I have two left hands.
