My Interpretation of Aphrodite

I recently bought Hades 2, which has me thinking about the Greek Gods again. I haven’t played it yet, but I’ve played a lot of the first game, so I’m familiar with the character designs. I was inspired by the fantasy interpretations of the Gods, with colorful hair and otherworldly features.

I made her sparkel because I imagine she would, with light reflecting from her hair and jewelry. I also gave her pink hair because it makes the most sense, though most interpretations of her tend to go that route.

Her makeup is inspired by the most popular example of makeup from the time. It’s super well known because it’s one of the only surviving examples we have. I believe it was found on a mask or a fresco. Some people interpret it to have a white base, but I’m not sure if that’s what they did or if it was the style of fresco, so I chose not to include that.
