If Lewis said what Fernando said people would be after him with pitchforks and the fact that Fernando's comments are being chalked down to him 'being Fernando' is indicative of the fact that there is a disparity between the way POC radio messages and white driver radio messages are treated. Because nothing Lewis or Yuki have ever said has been chalked down to 'them being them' and has always been put down to them being 'aggressive men' for which they have had to deliver a public apology for. Lewis and Yuki have been the only F1 drivers to have ever apologised for their team radios and someone used an ableist slur in their team radio so let's stop saying 'we shouldn't focus on their team radios because it's a high stress situation' only when your white guys are being 'aggressive' or ableist and and instead use that mentality for all drivers. Because when you call out Yuki and Lewis but not ANYONE else you're perpetuating the same racist ideas that have been prevalent in society for so long, you know the 'aggressive black man' thing that has gotten many black men/kids shot by the police in America and the 'aggressive/arrogant ethnic person thing' that led to the vilification of Pascal Wehrlein and Kamui kobayashi during which they were considered arrogant/aggressive. This isn't a new thing, it didn't start with Lewis or Yuki and it's a damn shame it isn't ending with them in 2022.
