*Watermelon Tourmaline* The term tourmaline is from the singhalese phrase “tura mali” in Shri Lanka. It means “stone mixed with different coloures” and “watermelon” refers to the colour combination of of the fruit with a dark to light green outer ring and pinkish to red core separated with a light pink or white colour. *CHRYSOCOLLA* Chrysocolla gemstones are found in bright blue or green with soft turquoise and teal hues. Chrysocolla in itself is a copper silicate, and is not a mineral but more a silica gel which has hardened over time. It’s Saturday and I guess that everyone is having a quiet one! Well I bring you more posts to brighten up your day! Here are a matching pair of toe rings! I don’t know where I’d wear these or for what occasion one would wear them! But I absolutely love the flower motive that is so intricate and beautiful, so on my hands they will remain!!! 🌸 . On a side note remember to be considerate of the elderly and venerable, when shopping don’t panic and buy all the stock, leave some for others to be able to buy essential products as well and don’t try and profit off making hygiene products because of the Corvid-19 pandemic! My star garnet is a mixture of almandine and pyrope garnet and the memorizing X that moves in the stone is called ‘asterism’ which is made up of tiny rutile needle inclusions. International Woman’s day is actually very close to my heart ❤️ , I was born on the 9 August which is celebrated as our very own South African Woman’s day! While there are many struggles that woman still face in 2020 we have also come a long way so today let’s celebrate the achievements woman have made through history. * The suffragettes where a woman’s militant organization that paved the way for woman’s rights movements in the 20th century, the fought for equality and voting rights for woman. 6 Feb 1918 woman get to vote for the first time. * In 1967 20 year old German born Kathrine Switzer made history to defiantly run the Boston Marathon. * Marie Curie, a polish physicists & chemist was the first woman to receive the noble prize in chemistry. * Sarah Breedlove became the first female, self made millionaire in US history after developing a line of beauty products designed for Black woman! * In 1925, Coco Chanel freed woman from the corset with her menswear-inspired cardigan style jackets! * These are just a few that I’ve mentioned!
