Many transgender people like to remind everyone that body parts are not “inherently sexed” and that biological sex is just a social construct. The webcomic called “Assigned male” helpfully reminds us that this is so, by stating that penises and vulvas aren’t really boy’s parts or girl parts.

I Need Feminism Because...

I’ve not posted in ages, but I’m posting now.

I’ve never posted an “I need feminism before,” but I am now. 

I need feminism because I don’t want to be cat-called when I walk out to my car in my quiet neighborhood. 

I need feminism because it’s still considered “making a scene” when I call a man out for ogling me/my friends/my family/my nieces. 

I need feminism because people still think it’s somehow a woman’s fault for being harassed. 

I need feminism because people think it’s somehow okay for a man to stare at a woman or girl, but not for said woman or girl to call him out and let the world know he’s a creep.

I need feminism because I live in a world where the female sex is treated like garbage. 

I need feminism because it’s not the fucking dark ages anymore.
