It’s time for another yap session about why I give a fuck about Ghost/Gavin, a ship so rare there’s two (2) entire fics on ao3, and one of them is mine.
We all know Ghost has major anger issues. In my version of him atleast, besides just being part of his personality regardless, this stems from trauma. He is ALWAYS in fight or flight mode, except somewhere along the road, his brain forgot flight was an option.
Toast is. Not. He doesn’t get angry nearly as often, and he’s quieter about it when he does. (Ignoring the admittedly hilarious times he contradicts this in the videos.) He knows the reasons behind Ghost’s anger, and he’s always there to support him in any way he needs, as much as he’s able too. But he reacts to his own trauma MUCH differently than Ghost, so he can’t relate to those feelings.
Gavin, on the other hand, definitely leans toward’s Ghost’s way of processing trauma. It’s less intense in some regards, and he’s one fuck of a lot better at hiding it, but it’s there all the same. He and Ghost can relate to eachother in a way that Ghost and Toast never can.
