Just got back from a work conference and can I just say - no wonder Jade and Euclase got along so well. They’ve got all of these mandatory patrol briefing work events to organize and attend every morning of their immortal lives, and 90% of the gems they’ve got to spend all of their time with and give directions to are the densest, least diplomatic mfs you can find. Every time they turn around someone’s insulting someone else's fighting abilities or joking about the most depressing shit they've ever heard or calling each others useless or trying to start shit with someone's partners or going rogue and fighting a sunspot without supervision. They probably metaphorically (literally? Jadeuc stans weigh in) fell into each other's arms the first briefing they had together like “finally, a person who knows how to make polite small talk. How’s the weather? Would you rather work four 10-hour days or five eight-hour days? Please know that you’re my only solace in this school and I value you.”
