PAPAVERIKA ;; A subgender under fleurika connected to poppies and their meaning in floriography - mainly loss, rememberence and sleep - all under the broader context of battling against mental health issues and recovery.

MEANING ;; Papaver sp. is one genus of poppies (family Papaveraceae), peharps what can be called "true poppies", there are around 100 species under this genus and they can be found mainly in cold and temperate regions around the world. My premise with this flag was to make a "dark mode" fleurika flag, with a dark background giving nightly vibes and colder colors for the squares in contrast with the warm, orange, poppy.

Q: are you on any sort of a-spectrum? are there aspects of identity you lack?

A: community, friendship, and queerplatonic attractions are all ones i feel with very limited frequency and/or diminished intensity. i am also greyspec with regards to just about all forms of attraction.

Q: are you xenogender? what are your thoughts on the label?

A: kind of? i find kinship with several xenogender labels but wouldn't consider myself fully under that umbrella. i think as a category it functions acceptably with some gaps, like any other gender category.

Q: are there any important dates when it comes to your identity? when did you discover the MOGAI and/or queer communities, or that you were MOGAI/queer?

A: i developed an outsider interest in the mogai community specifically back in 2019, and picked up a few applicable terms in the following years. i had identified as bi and some kind of genderqueer prior to that, since grade school. couldn't give any exact dates, however.

Q: how do your views (on the world, on society, etc.) affect your identity, especially your MOGAI identity? A: it affects it all, but unfortunately in ways i have always struggled to articulate. if anything, i could argue my lack of easily identifiable and performed gender identity reflects my desire for broader sex/gender reform in the world, but perhaps that would be a stretch.

mogai abcs: day 21 Q: what are your feelings toward the MOGAI community? do you consider yourself part of it?

A: by necessity, yes, although i would probably consider myself somewhere along the lines of acommunal given my lack of general interest in most designated communities. i would argue i don't tend to interact heavily with the "mogai community" anyways - i coin infrequently, archive, and hoard and that's really the bulk of it.

as for my feelings, over the years they've begun to trend negative. especially recently the mogai community has proven itself incapable of change, and reliant on empty statements to placate those who feel associated guilt, falling into many of the social and demographic assumptions of tumblr as a whole (i.e., the white, perisex, alloattractional, binaristic, christian-raised american as default).

this isn't to say i haven't done any of these things, and the fact that i have only begun to notice these issues in the past 3-4 years is certainly indicative of my ignorance. regardless, that's how i feel, and i won't go into more detail for sake of brevity.

a term for people with moral OCD who feel like they have to consistently make up for their misdemeanor or personal idea of bigotry in a sisyphean manner. they may feel like making a mistake equals regression or going back to the start, or like theyve never atoned enough.

this doesnt have to do with making up for actual bigoted behavior or being responsible for your actions and is mainly focused on exaggerated self punishment as a form of compulsion or self harm.

exclusive to people with moral OCD, I wont move on this, if you relate to this enough to ID with it please check moral OCD symptoms. its more common than youre lead to believe.

name comes from the greek myth of the Danaïdes, the 50 daughters of Danaus who murdered their husbands on the night of their wedding and got punished for it by being instructed to carry water in jugs to a bath to wash away their sins with, except the bath itself has no bottom or otherwise has a hole, thus they will never be clean of their sin.
