Let's talk some more about AYS2 Episode 1
Yes folks, I'm still there.
And yes, it's been ages. Life goes on I guess. Comebacks happen too (LOVE Arirang btw). And me, well, I'm still on episode 1.
WTH????
Anyway, this will be a short one (maybe?). Like I said before, I'm not sure how to do these, and I'm just going with the flow here.
With all the promotions going on and I'm sorry, but the clear pushing of specific duos during these promotions (seating order is not coincidental, and you can see that when the seating is changed - basically mirrored - all while the specific duos are still sat in play) had me thinking of this moment in episode 1.
Because the Jikook fanservice narrative has been talked about ad nauseum. Every interaction (including those caught off camera or when they are not in the focus) labeled scripted and deemed fanservice by so many in the fandom - tkks yes, but not only. Claims of Jikook being pushed on us, big army accounts ignoring them while drooling over Vmin interactions or Minimoni or Jinkook or even Tkk. But Jikook are a big no no, always with the claim of "those shippers" and always ignoring the genuine bond the two have.
Believe what you want about them being a couple or not (you know where I stand), there is no denying that close bond. Dare I say, the closest within the group, even if what we are seeing during these promotions at the moment is zero Jikook and all the duos that the fanbase really wants to see. If all we are seeing is talk about JM being there for everyone, how close he is to certain members, all while ignoring the question of "who does JM go to when he needs someone to lean on?". A question that even if the others wouldn't answer, well JM clearly did, time after time (including in Letter which we KNOW is written for JK), and even during these promotions.
Question: Who do you need?
JM: "I need JK"! (after slamming JK with "come on..." for his answer needing the other 6 members).
And his "MY MAN" to JK
Yes, this can be a bro thing, but I'm leaning on it not being that, seeing that this followed the whole "teasing/kissing" debacle, and JM's and JK's reactions to that.
To me it felt like JM claiming his man back.
And if we went there already, why not address JK's reply to Jimmy's question?
JK reminded us that he didn't miss JM during his military service because, duh, they served together. And while Jimmy was ready to move on from that, JK made it clear he had something more to say. Not about what he missed during military service but about "what I miss RIGHT NOW". Interesting choice, to be honest, seeing that the whole discussion is about their military service and not being together during that period of time. But clearly Jikook had been together throughout those 18 months. Anyway, he says JM's gochujang stew. He misses now. Not then. Now. And when did JM (the man that didn't know how to cook rice, mind you) prepare his "all famous" gochujang stew?
If you saw AYS2 you know the answer to that.
JK really can't miss an opportunity to compliment JM. Even more so when he does something that's out of his comfort zone, like cooking for JK (and we all know it's JK's job to cook for JM not the opposite way around). He compliments him for the way he peels garlic for god's sake.
Same dish JK praised to the T, until JM said it needed salt and JK enthusiastically agreed, lol. Because he will NEVER say it's bland if JM made it, well, unless JM says so himself first.
So yeah, that's what JK missed.
But is it the food he really missed?
I've seen there are those that attach a sexual connotation to what JK said. I don't think that's what was going on here. Even if the word could imply where people are going with it and even if we've had the two be naughty in the past with sexual inuendo, they are both super professional and this here was not the time or the place they would go there.
What i think, where JK was going with this in my opinion, is him telling JM that he misses them back there, before the diets and the promos and the having to sit where they are told and be careful what you say. It's not that he's not happy with BTS and the comeback. We know this is something JK wanted more than anything. But I think that maybe they forgot about the bullshit that comes with it. Just like they are told by the company that having English lyrics will sell, they are told that seating NJ with Jin, JM with Yoongi and JK with Tae will sell. That pairing him with Tae for a show will sell rather than with Hobi or Jin or JM god forbid. That they have to sit through bullshit talk shows and infantile interviews and interactions (all part of the job but not necessarily something he loves or wants to do). the whole That bullshit that surrounds it all, while all he wants to do is be a singer and be on stage and do what he loves, which is perform (and we know who he looks for on stage, who he locks eyes with and gives him the energy - that would be the one and only JM). So yeah, I think that JK was telling JM that he missed him, missed them, being allowed to be just them. And he was so proud of himself for this too.
That different smile we got there is so notable (you know - from the freaked out "hell no" smile we got after the hysterical audience reaction to the mishearing of what Tae said).
And JM's reaction, well, it was also telling. He knew his cooking was meh, let's be honest, and it kind of also took him by surprise I think, but at the same time he LOVED it.
He was also so lost in what JK just said that he totally ignored Jimmy's "you didn't cook for me" remark, which on a regular day he'd definitely play into with banter of his own. But man was shooketh in the best way, lol.
Btw, this here, JK having his hand just waiting there for JM's even before JM's "I will cook to you" answer, yeah, he was not talking about cooking peeps.
Even if you sit us 5 men apart, we will find our way back to each other!!!
You are me 👉👈I am you!!
So, omg, talk about being sidetracked. But I guess I've been wanting to get to a point with the AYS2 moment.
JM and JK's bond, their interactions, they aren't fanservice. Not in the sense that the whole friggin fandom keeps labeling them as. Is the show a commodity? Hell yeah, it's a show created for our consumption and for that they want people to watch it. But it's obviously not scripted, a "reality" show of 2 "bandmates" travelling together. And why ya think they changed it up a little this season? I think we talked about this in my previous posts. To make it more entertaining for the viewers is why. Because otherwise what we got was just JK and JM raw, as much as they could show us from that raw footage, which was not too much (even them surprised the editors managed to put something together for us to see). The whole idea of this show, as far as the two are concerned is being able to travel together (JM talks about this later on), go places together, see things together, experience things together, all while being able to do so openly and safely (which they couldn't do if it was only the two of them by themselves, let's be honest here). Point being, they are genuine and the interactions are genuine and authentic. If fans enjoy it, so be it, it's a plus plus for them. But they aren't going on the trip to make us happy, to service us as fans? You get the difference.
When JK finds his way next to JM, teleporting himself to be by his side, it's because he wants to do so, not because he's told to do so for promotional reasons.
And don't get me wrong here, I'm not diminishing from the bond that JK has with Tae. They are friends, bandmates, bros. But let's be honest here. If he was given a choice. An actual choice of where to sit, it would be next to JM, his anchor, the person who grounds him and most definitely helps him get through these kind of promotional interviews.
So, back to AYS, let's talk about that car ride and JK holding JM's hand - yeah he went into a "hand shake" but that was no hand shake, that was a lingering hand hold.
And why do I bring this up though, in this context especially?
Because this here was JK dissing all those that claim what they do and what this is, this trip, the show, is fanservice, is scripted, is work.
And JM's reaction: "do people usually say that and shake hands on a trip? No. Right?" was exactly what viewers needed to hear.
And JK's "why not?" to which JM answers: "well, because it's just a trip".
Yeah and JK with his "no, it's business" full on cheeky smirk going on there... and whole "stay sharp" and "we're doing this for a reason"...
But JM's face at the end of that whole interaction was priceless.
Now, if you are blind and unable to understand underlined conversations or if you just hear and see what you want to, then you might think JK was being serious here (I mean, you would have to be daft to, because this is clearly an unserious interaction here). But if you have eyes and ears and can read facial expressions and tones then you know this was JK telling us to buckle up because he's taking this very seriously, lmao.
There was definitely serious business going on there.
More to come... probably (lol).
Again, I’m buying into this propaganda because nothing else can explain that look on Jimin’s face when JK said that.
Jungkook wanting to eat Jimin's Gochujang Stew...
Okay, I wasn't gonna make a post on this initially, but I feel like I kinda have to so someone can snap me out of my deluluness cuz I'm going crraaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzzzyyyyy over here.
So BTS's appearance on Jimmy Fallon just aired and during the show, Jimmy asked each member what they missed most about the member to the right of them during their military break. Jungkook and Jimin were on the farthest ends so Jungkook had to say what he missed about Jimin.
And this happened... 🤔
Jungkook said even though he and Jimin served in the military together, at that moment he missed Jimin's Gochujang Stew.
And there is just a lot to say about this but the main thing is...well...
Ya'll....listen 🤪
Seriously, for anyone unaware, chili pepper is kinda like a slang term for the male anatomy in Korea and it's no secret. And I knew this mention about the stew was gonna be brought up because of certain tweets that mentioned this before the show aired. I kinda had the thought in the back of my mind that
"Hold on...is he making a sex joke?" 😅
But I instantly pushed it away and said, nah he wouldn't.
And I wouldn't have thought he was IF NOT FOR THEIR DAMN REACTIONS.
Seriously, look at Jungkook's big smile as soon as he says that. Look at how Jimin laughs. Look at the other members and how RM IMMEDIATELY says that Jungkook is talking about cooking. 🤭
But think about it, if Jungkook was actually talking about stew here, why would he be grinning so wide? Why would Jimin pause for a moment then laugh?
Why would Jimin then say he'd cook it for him and they both start smiling like crazy if he was talking about STEW???
I must repeat, look at Jungkook's face after he says that. And look at the members.
Jungkook is smiling so damn wide he looks like his face will freeze.
I know that I am delusional, I own that. 😉 But I fully believe that Jungkook wasn't talking about wanting to eat Jimin's cooking. Especially since we know that Jimin isn't even the better cook between the two.
I think he was talking about eating Jimin's gochu and made a whole ass sex joke and he got away with it due to the lack of cultural understanding. (Though based on the audience reaction, I feel some people may have gotten it). 🫣
And this isn't even that crazy because they've done this so many times before with their "ramen" comments when we ALL know they are not talking about ramen. I fully believe this was just another way for Jikook to low-key make sex jokes and have it fly under the radar.
I am NOT claiming this to be 100% fact so please don't come for me. I'm not Korean so I could be misinterpreting this for sure. But as soon as I saw their reactions, I just had to make a post on this. What do you guys think? Any Koreans out there, please give your input!
Does Jungkook wanna eat Jimin's stew? Or does he wanna eat Jimin? 😉
Okay I'm going to bed! 😅
I’m buying it. Nothing else explains that look on Jimin’s face.
This is the best album
Arirang is here and I. LOVE. IT.
This is everything I wanted. I love Arirang so much - it is definitely a no skip album and I can’t stop playing it. I have literally absorbed this album into my dna. It has now bonded with my being on a molecular level and I have never been happier.

My Dear,
February lies quiet upon the days,
and I find my thoughts returning to you.
Happy Valentine's Day.
What I feel is not loud; it is steady.
Love, to me, is simply this;
to hold you in the heart,
with constancy,
in presence and in absence alike.
Much love,
Jimin.

This shot of JK with his tattooed hand prominently disolayed in the Vogue January 2021 issue, accompanied by his words in the interview, reveals the deep meaning those letters hold for him: ARMY and JM. Yes, in Jungkook's world, there is only one JM. And those letters? He proudly displays them shamelessly whenever he gets the chance.
“This is how I’ll live!’ But what’s clear is that I want to decide for myself how to live my life. Perhaps there will be an afterlife, but who knows? This is the only life I’ve got, and it’s short. I’d never do something that everybody agrees is wrong, but where various ways are acceptable, I want to live on my own terms. I settled on this fairly early on.”

It's my 2 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳
WTF Tumblr. I only found BTS, Jikook, and started this blog less than a year ago. Maybe they are using Korean age/years?
