Genevieve fell in love with Harry, her husband, when she was 14. He made her confident and filled a void that she felt had always been there. He treated her like a princess and she loved the way they worked as a team. Until she found him in their bed with another woman. She thinks about Harry often and hopes he’ll never come to find her.

Evelyn blushed at Genevieve’s words. She felt a connection, just as she did herself. ‘What does this mean though?’ She asked herself. “W-what kind of connection, Gen.. because I have never felt this way about anyone in my life. It’s kinda frightening me honestly, but its a good frighten.” She said, looking up at the gorgeous red head in front of her.

Genevieve smiled at the redness in Evelyn’s cheeks. She smiled and took a step closer to the shorter brunette and took Evelyn’s hand in her own. “I’m feeling a romantic connection. I agree with you, it is quite frightening, but I don’t think it’s a bad thing.” she said softly meeting Evelyn’s eyes with her own.

Gen gave him a small smile, “Life doesn’t work around plans.” she said with a shrug and a small laugh. “I can’t count the amount of times life has changed my plans for me.” she giggled.

Genevieve likes 80s music a lot. She grew up listening to a lot of it with her mom and she always loved it. She has since branched out to music with a clear 80s inspiration but sometimes can’t help but go back to her favorites.

Evelyn listened to Genevieve intently and grinned as she told her her back story. “Wow, I love how your from Europe.. I’ve never been. It’s so beautiful there from what I hear.” She said. Evelyn bit her lip as Genevieve asked her about her. She had to furrow her brow to think about what exactly she was going to tell the woman in front of her.

“Well, I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. My parent’s have been separated most of my life for as long as I can remember.” She said, looking down. “But they raised me one on one. I had both of them in my life, but not the way I had hoped.” Looking up, Evelyn smiled. “I moved here five years ago to pursue my dream of working with children.”

Gen smiled and nodded at the words, “It is so beautiful, I’d love to take you around and show you where I’m from.” she said softly with a smile. She smiled watching Evelyn’s brow furrow and thinking about how beautiful the brunette looked sitting across from her. 

Genevieve nodded, “I understand parent’s being separated all too well.” she said with a shrug. “That’s a wonderful dream.” she said smiling. “I’ve never been anywhere in the States other than Chicago.” she said with a smile. “So what made you realize you wanted to work with children?”

“Well, you most definitely succeeded in the surprise department.” Evelyn said with a giggle. “I’m glad you came, Gen.. I wanted to talk to you about something.” She said, biting her lip nervously. “Are you feeling what I’m feeling between us?”

Gen smiled at the brunette in front of her and nodded, “Good I’m glad, that was the plan afterall.” she joked with a laugh. When she heard Evelyn’s words she almost froze, people weren’t usually this upfront with her, and she honestly hadn’t felt this way since she met her husband. She felt her cheeks redden when she was asked the question. She nodded at Evelyn, “I definitely feel a connection.” she said with a small smile.

“He is pretty adorable. Do you have kids?” He asked as he stepped forward in line to order. “No, no need to feel bad. If I were covered in coffee, maybe.” He said playfully.

Genevieve smiled and shook her head, “Oh no I don’t have any of my own right now.” she said with a small smile. “It’s not the right time yet.” she said with a small shrug. “Okay good then only when you are covered in coffee will I feel bad.”

Genevieve Duquette || Task 2: Day 4 - Family

Genevieve is an only child. She was raised entirely by her mother and grew up in London. She always wished she had a brother or sister to keep her company but it never happened. She got married young and now is in the process of thinking about obtaining a divorce after she caught him cheating and fled the country.

“It’s nice to meet you, Genevieve. Have you lived in the city long?” Cory asked, wanting to get to know her.

Genevieve gave a small smile and nodded, “It’s nice to meet you as well.” she nodded at his question. “I’ve only been in the city for a year. How about you? How long have you been here?” she asked with a smile taking another sip of her drink.

Genevieve has a strong personality. She’s very loving and loyal to those she cares about. But she can be harsh and impulsive. She has some abandonment issues because of her father leaving her when she was young. Overall she wants to help people and has a hard time when she gets hurt asking for help.

Evelyn felt a bit of ease settle in her stomach as Genevieve spoke so nice and confidently at the rude waitress that she asked her for what she wanted from the menu nicely. Looking down at the table, Evelyn realized Gen had her palm up towards her side of the table. Not knowing really what she wanted, Evelyn did what her heart told her to and placed her palm face down into hers and intertwined their fingers, blushing purfousely.

“So, Gen, tell me more about you. I want to know everything good, bad, embarrassing and all the in between.” Evelyn was shocked at how into Genevieve she was. Never in her life had she been into someone as she was with Gen. Yes, she knew that she was into girls and sometimes guys, but this was different. It felt different.. like it was where she was supposed to be.

Genevieve smiled at the feeling of Evelyn’s hand in her own. She giggled a little at the pink in Evelyn’s cheeks as they held hands. She smiled at the waitress and watched her walk away. She knew that being kind was the best way to handle the rude woman and she glanced over at Evelyn when she heard her words. 

“Well I was born in France, when I was five we moved to London. I was raised by my mother.” she said with a shrug. “I like to draw, I sketch a lot in my free time.” she smiled softly. “I don’t know what else to say.” she said with a small shrug. “What about you, I want to know everything about you as well.” she said with a soft smile as her thumb slowly stroked the top of Evelyn’s hand.

Evelyn grinned when she saw Genevieve. She was honestly the last person she expected to see outside her daycare. “Gen..” she said, blushing breathlessly. “What’re you doing here?” Rushing up to Genevieve, Evelyn grabbed her hand and smiled. “Not that I’m not okay with you being here, I’m just so surprised.”

Genevieve smiled at the touch of Evelyn’s hand on her own. She smiled and laughed a little, “I thought I’d come by and surprise you.” she said with a smile as she handed Evelyn the bouquet. “I had a great time the other night and I wanted to see you again.” she said with a small smile.

Genevieve lives in a studio apartment. She likes that it’s small so she can’t have too much clutter. When she was in London, she lived in a large one bedroom apartment. She has enough money to move into something bigger but she likes it this way.

Genevieve’s fashion sense is largely 90s inspired. She loves boots and jeans. She also usually wears her naturally wave red hair down. She’s not big on dresses but will wear them when she feels they are appropriate.

Walking out of her daycare after closing up for the night, Evelyn locked the door behind her and slowly walked towards her car, exhausted from the day she had. As she walked up to her car, she couldn’t help but see another car still parked in the parking lot. “Hello? Is anyone there?”

Genevieve was hoping to surprise Evelyn after work and when she saw the brunette finally walking out of the building she came out of her car with a bouquet of sunflowers. Walking towards her she smiled, “It’s just me, no need to worry.” she said holding the flowers out towards the other woman.
