ofcgenesis:
her gaze lingers on genevieve a moment. despite being her ‘sister,’ gen really didn’t have a clue what the other did for a living. and she’s almost certain genevieve didn’t know what she did either. of course, it wasn’t like gen actually made a living doing anything. “lighten up, it was a joke.” she remarks, rolling her eyes. she looks away from her, standing briefly to pour herself a cup of coffee. if she was going to sit through a conversation with gen, she at least needed to be caffeinated. and maybe have a few shots of whiskey too. she stifles a laugh. it’s bitter, nearing emotionless. “why not? daddy dearest pays for everything, last time i checked, hell doesn’t look like a cozy mansion. somebody sounds ungrateful.” she taunts. of course, she’s being flippant. she doesn’t actually enjoy living at the academy– but something’s made her stay all these years. even now, in her twenties.
this wasn’t how family was supposed to live, genevieve knew that much. of course,no family was perfect but everything felt so twisted in these walls that she felt like she reverted back to her childhood self, not that there was much personal growth between then and now. here was the place where she was given a number instead of a name, forced to get a tattoo as she shook the whole damn house and where she was practically ignored even after her outbursts that cried for attention. grace had done the best that she could but she was a robot and there was only so much that she could understand and help with. in genevieve’s world, nothing was ever that simple... the blonde’s eyes narrow towards genesis as her face scrunches. a sensitive soul, genevieve never did quite learn how to handle people taunting her like this; they knew exactly how to push her buttons because it was far too easy. “ungrateful? what am i supposed to be grateful for?” staring in the direction of the glasses, they begin to vibrate together very slightly. she was using her power as a sign for the other to stop prodding. no, the blonde hadn’t been looking for trouble but it sure seemed to follow her around.
