This has been on my mind for long but I’m gonna do this - please reblog this if you’re comfortable with pre-establishing relationships. I do not mean “met at the grocery store two weeks ago” or “have a common friend”, but rather stuff like “have been best friends since kindergrden”, “go for a beer every friday”, “friends with benefits”, “dated in highschool”, “hate each other’s guts because -insert reason-”  etc. Something meaningful (but not necessarily shippy) and I mean with muns/characters you have not interacted with, because I cannot believe I am the only one who prefers jumping right into the heart of the human interaction

When Youngjae heard Chanyeol’s voice, he had a smile on his face still, opening his eyes slowly. What he had expected wasn’t what he saw and his smile turned into a small frown. He let out a sigh and stared at the older boy, making a motion to sit then turned to his bag to grab his first aid kit. It’s a habit Youngjae’s picked up since knowing Chanyeol as the older boy would randomly show up like he got in a gang fight. Of course, that wasn’t the case. Thankfully Chanyeol hadn’t shown up with anything broken yet. He opened up the first aid kit and got the sterile wipes, grabbing one and wiping at Chanyeol’s scrapes. “You’re okay though, right? Nothing broken. No internal bleeding?” He asked, feeling the need to check every single time even if he already knew that Chanyeol probably wouldn’t have shown up if that was the case.

“Yeah I’m fine,” he said with a chuckle. “I’m just a klutz.” He hated lying, especially since he knew that Youngjae knew he wasn’t telling the truth, but there were still things about himself he didn’t know if he was able to be open about, both in a personal and legal sense.  

“I hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long. The food looks good by the way,” he said.

"Mmm..." Of course Youngjae didn't believe it. But he knew better than to poke at it when Chanyeol didn't seem to want to talk about it. "It's dangerous being a klutz when you're so tall. More places to get hurt." He said in a teasing scolding manner but there's a small smile on his face. He’d finish it off by placed band-aids over the sterilized scrapes and then nodded. "All better." He put the first aid kit away and as he did, Chanyeol mentioned the food which made Youngjae grin. It really wasn’t much but he was proud of himself for it. “It tastes good too.” He wasn’t really sure if that was true or not since it varied on people’s taste but he liked it so it should be fine. “Are you hungry?” He asked, suddenly feeling a little nervous about it. “Cause you don’t have to eat if you don’t want to.”

Youngjae had been in a bit of a bad mood. He knew he shouldn’t have read the comments that people leave in news articles about them but he did and there were a few comments that were harsh. Youngjae is usually good at not letting harsh comments get to him but he’s not sure why that day it did. He hadn’t meant to seem this way in front of Daehyun but obviously the younger boy noticed since he was being told to smile. Having known Daehyun for so long, the younger boy knew where his weak points were and Youngjae ended up laughing loudly. “Ahahaha yah! Okay okay!” He shout laughed as he held his hands up in surrender and tried to flash Daehyun a nice smile.

Daehyun hated when people made such terrible comments about Youngjae like that. There was absolutely nothing wrong with him, and it irritated him to no end when he heard someone had said something negative. That’s why he took it upon himself to cheer the other up in these situations. Laughing as he sat on the other to hold him down so he couldn’t slip away, he grinned at him before pausing his tickling and heard his comment. “Yay! A smile! But I think I want to see a bigger smile from you, Hyung. I like your smile, it’s always so nice!” He exclaimed before he started tickling him again.

"How much bigger can I...AHAHHAHA!" He had the moment to catch his breath but that brief moment was soon over. "Ah! Yah!" He shouted as laughter continued to escape from his lips. Thankfully, Daehyun was grabning onto him, otherwise he would have fallen off and probably cracked his skull when his body jerked away to try to get away from the tickling fingers. All his troubles are forgotten in that moment since it's more about catching his breath and to stop flailing around. His arms wrap around the younger boy in an attempt to stop him though he's not sure how effective that really is. "Okay okay. I give."

Youngjae could really just hit him but instead he went into the bathroom, using it as was his original intention. Then he stepped out and went to look for his friend, giving his shoulder a light slap when he’s close enough. “Yah. Way to make me feel more embarrassed then necessary.”

“You?” Jongin grumbled, shifting his weight. “I’m the one who was naked.” He mumbled. “I’m the one who’s embarrassed.” He looked away, rubbing his arms. “I’m still embarrassed.”

That’s when he realized that Jongin was just as embarrassed as he was. Youngjae had thought that with his nice body he wouldn’t be. That was his assumption anyway. “Aigoo..” He went over to his friend and lightly smacked to his arm to get his attention. “We’re both guys. What’s there to be shy about?” He said with a laugh. That probably wasn’t the way to go about it so he added, “Sorry..” with a small smile.

As Chanyeol swam, he clung on, laughing like a child since he literally hasn’t done this since he was really young. He always did feel a bit like a child with Chanyeol never to this extent. He’s not hating it though, actually enjoying himself a lot. “It was hot today.” Playfully, he patted the older boy’s head lightly like you would a child, with a small grin on his face. He knew that he was pushing it but he’d add on, “Good idea, my ferryman. Such a good ferryman.” 

He rolled his eyes and chuckled. “Careful or I might just accidentally drop you back into the water,” he said. He swam around a bit with Youngjae on his back, and he admittedly enjoyed the bit of a workout that came with the extra weight.

“You drop me and I’ll…be really upset with you.” That was really weak and he knew it was. But honestly, what kind of threat could be make to a guy that was more than a head taller than he was? At least physically, he was no match. It didn’t seem like Chanyeol was going to go through with his words so he clung on happily.  “I’m not too heavy, right?”

He knew his own behaviour and morals were reflecting in his son, so he felt praised and happy with the positive things Taeyang’s teacher said. 

Although he really seemed nice, Shunya was still slightly embarrassed about his inappropriate behaviour from when they met. That’s why, being handed the file, he rather wanted to run away to blush in a corner than to keep the conversation up. After all he only came to have a talk with the teacher and then pick up Taeyang up, not to have a two hours chat with Youngjae. 

“Thank you so much, I appreciate it” He said and then got up. Being patted on the shoulder seemed a little weird, but the father did not lose his smile. “Taeyang is probably waiting already, so I’ll pick him up now!”

It was true that they had been talking for a while. However it wasn’t anything that was out of place for Youngjae. Generally, the parents of his students had more questions for Youngjae and could keep going for longer but this was one of the rare occasions he met with the father who was actually willing to speak with him aside from the generic questions and short replies. 

When Shunya got up, Youngjae did as well and gave a polite nod and bow to the young father. “You’re welcome. Feel free to call if you have any questions.” He then turned to the children’s rug where Taeyang was playing with block letters. “Taeyang ah~ come over here, please. It’s time to go home.” He said in a cheerful tone, waiting until the small boy stood in front of them to grab his backpack that was hanging on his chair and held it out for the small boy to put on. “Good job today as well. See you tomorrow~” He told the smaller boy with a wave of his hands.
