Oh deer. Flame Horned Deer. 5” long x 3” deep x 5” tall. Wood fired porcelain with stoneware horns. The ash really did a number on this beast - soupy rivulets and tiny blue crystals. I can never predict the colors or effects - it turns the whole process into a collaboration with the fire. This little Egg Eater has perhaps the highest concentration of crystals that I’ve ever gotten on a beast. These crystals - the speckles - are unpredictable, and grow in the wood ash from the firing.
