Why do I have to exist ? Is it not enough to be a ghost roaming the forests of the Pacific Northwest ???
Why did you speak as a deer / when you were really a ghost?

a kind caring character being kind and caring because they actively choose to be despite their anger and trauma will always be infinitely more compelling and relatable than them just being a pure innocent baby uwu
show compassionate, soft characters who are not “innocent”/naive but who fought bitterly to be and remain compassionate and soft

i think everyone should be wildly more creative with how white mages function in their fancontent. they’re always depicted at just standin around in the back healing doing nothing and they can control the fuckin elements?? even if we’re losing aero 3 that’s powerful ass wind magic. imagine a white mage throwing themselves around the battlefield at maximum velocity using wind magic. firing water alongside it with such speed the water becomes a blade or otherwise super fatal projectile weapon. rocks.
there’s so much there to work with and im sad the cool naturey shit got sidelined so hard. especially fluid aura. i will never forgive what was done with fluid aura.
Some uses for white magic in my personal RP canon:
Pulling drinking water out of the air with fluid aura
Literally being an earthbender and using that to do things like make handholds for climbing a cliff, instantly digging a fire pit, etc
Aero? More like Aero Conditioning, on a hot day
More earthbender shit: Summoning up a wall of rocks as a shield, raising a platform for yourself in the battleground
You can pry stoneskin from my cold dead hands
Asking trees for directions
Making the rain not fall on you just by forcibly moving it away. Dome of dryness here we go!
Repose to help calm someone down from a panic attack (the spell works by regulating someone’s breathing and heartbeat, no reason it can’t be used for not sleep related effects).
Making quicksand with water and earth magic
The classic “Rocks Fall, everyone dies” or causing a cave in of some sort.
and much much more
Honestly there’s a lot of cool potential for white mages and I just…never see it utilized. They’re essentially druids and elemental benders combined.
catch me about to throw hands with a tree bc it talked shit
I love this post because this is exactly what I’ve tried to do with Alannah, most of the time she’s more offensive bender than defensive healer, and her signature moves involve dropping tornados or rocks the size of a house on her enemies and yeeting herself into the sky with aero.
