I was looking at some of your art and was really struck by your colour choices, they're gorgeous. Is there any particular process you go through when choosing a palette, or is it just by eye? I'd love any insight into your technique.

To answer your question though, I rarely select a palette beforehand but I do try and limit how many colors I use mostly to create cohesion. Pretty much, if you want to add a new color, it might be worth looking around the canvas to see if you can get away with using a color from somewhere else.
Other general coloring things I keep in mind is I try and avoid shading with black and instead opt for shading with a darker color (how much cooler or warmer the color is depends on the overall atmosphere).
I also tend to use a higher saturation, or overall brighter color as a highlight to contrast against lower saturation colors. It tends to really pop out those elements and adds a lot of energy. There's a lot of color theory that I probably adhere to by habit but usually in the heat of the moment I'm leaning more on my experience. I think the more you practice coloring and see which colors look good with other colors, you'll just get an eye for it. Something about getting your hands on the colors and tweaking them around really helps the theory turn into habit. Hope it helps!

I've put my 2 weeks in at my day job to work on Lancer Tactics more full time!
This means more time for my own stuff too, so look forward to me being more active!
