Its kinda funny that when youre surrounded in a culture where vampires are considered really cool and fascinating and complicated because of the many films that explore them, when you go back on the novel that literally started the vampire craze it feels almost subversive because in it, the humans are infinitely more interesting and complex and dynamic than the actual vampire in the story.
