the Kayne Mannerism that i have is, unfortunately, The Laugh (which weirdly enough is NOT something i picked up from him, just an annoying trait i've always had), and i ALSO work with small children (10-18 months) some of whom LOVE it and some of whom are extremely confused at this weird noise. best of luck at work with the kiddos 🖤

Me and @wilnotwill were talking abt this but I personally think we dont talk about how Arthur killed Uncle enough bc it was such a significant slip in his humanity. Like you could maybe argue that with Faust it was partly starvation or desperation or that he knew Faust was probably going to kill him first through John's vision so it was a kill or get killed situation even if Arthur did find a particular pleasure in the act. But what about with Uncle? When Arthur attacked Uncle, he threw a chair at him in self defense and ran, leaving Arthur to FOLLOW HIS TRAIL OF BLOOD AND THEN KILL HIM. Uncle didn't seem to be looking for trouble, yet Arthur targeted him not out of survival or even fear, but like John said: he was hunting. It was his choice. It was out of cruelty and a reflection of the worst parts of himself. The only thing that changed the situation was that he managed to snap out of it, but it was too late by then. Not to say that Uncle was totally innocent or anything but it was the first time that Arthur went out of his way to cause harm against someone who probably didn't pose much of threat to him otherwise, because he was so absolutely lost in grief and rage that nothing else mattered. Which I think is definitely more interesting to me than the Faust situation.

I'm gradually realizing that most of the Kayne-isms Ive adopted by relistening to malevolent x number of times come out the most at work. When I'm interacting with 4-5 year olds for 8 hours. Which sounds concerning but I promise it isn't.
