Nashville, Austin, and Miami. The three hottest cities in the country post-COVID – the ones that are consistently pointed to as the new tech and innovation hubs likely to dislodge Silicon Valley and attract Californians. This dislodgment isn’t really happening at a huge scale, but it’s apparently big enough to drive a significant shift in the pattern of air travel. These three airports together accounted for 30% of the increase in air travel among large hubs. Each saw their boardings increase by about a third. The Denver hub was in fourth place, and it wasn’t even close. (By comparison, boardings at LAX were down 12%.)
