Let's start a new reblog chain with Futurama Freela shippers by doing the "we're Freela shippers and of course (whatever you say) and tag whomever is a shipper to Fry and Leela to add on.
I'll go first
We're Freela shippers. Of course we think the worst episodes with Freela moments are the best episodes.
“We are descended from the Witches you couldn’t burn!”
It’s a nice sentiment, I like the energy, I do. That said, I am actually descended from a “Salem Witch,” and my Ancestor, Mary Isham Towne, was not burnt at the stake, she was hanged by the neck until dead. We’re not savages y’know.
Furthermore, Mary Isham Towne was a churchgoing, god-fearing woman, who just so happened to be a widow who owned a piece of land that the local judge wanted to purchase, but which she refused to sell, and which he set out to acquire pretty much immediately after he sentenced her execution.
A bunch of religious men execute falsely accused women (and men). Centuries later, women claiming kinship with oppressed marginalised women go “yes!!! they 100% did what you accused them of!”
I personally prefer to believe women. And to not believe confessions extracted under cruel conditions and torture.
Isn't it interesting that, while we've heard the completely whackjob "abolish all police, empty all prisons" stance a hundred times over, we've never once heard what these people plan to do with violent criminals?
Like obviously, we all know the reason is that they are all completely delusional and think that they live in a world where crime simply wouldn't happen if everyone held hands and everything was free, but like... I really, honestly, truly want to hear what they think will happen to violent rapists, murderers, terrorists. I've just never heard it.
That and, I'm pretty sure you could bluescreen one of these types if you ask them what they think about Trump. How do you accuse someone of being a felon who deserves to be in jail if you don't believe in policing or jail? But you just know they also hold that belief with no consideration whatsoever as to how it contradicts.
“Antizionism isn’t antisemitism” might be slightly easier to believe if the self proclaimed “antizionists” didn’t spend most of their time abusing and insulting people hideously for the crime of existing while Jewish.
Lust is not premarital sex, masturbation, or sexual thoughts. The sin of lust is rape, sexual assault, pedophelia.
Wrath is not being angry at someone when they harm you, or wanting truly evil people to be laid low. The sin of wrath is murder, racism, xenophobia.
Gluttony is not enjoying eating, even when you are full, or feasting with friends in celebration even to excess. The sin of gluttony is taking when others have nothing, eating while others starve, consuming while others waste away.
Sin is not enjoying in the pleasures and good things that God made for us to experience, but rather twisting those goods to be evil.
I talk about Russia, China, and Turkey a lot in the most scathing of terms. But what do I think of their citizens?
I think they're people.
Much of my early childhood was spent interacting with a Russian expat community, and Russian was even my first language because of my babysitter. I've known so many great Chinese people; a scientist from Shanghai was my lab boss for four years in grad school. I work with Turkish subspecialty fellows. Everyone is a person. They're all deserving of kindness and safety, either here or at home.
EVEN IF THEY SUPPORT THEIR GOVERNMENTS.
I don't want ethnic Russians kicked out of a free Ukraine, Han Chinese out of Tibet or Taiwan, or Turkish nationals out of the Caucasus or Kurdistan. Everyone deserves a home, and "this land BELONGS TO X group, not Y group" is disgusting ethnonationalism on the level of everything leftists claim to despise. Land "belongs to" no one. Land is shared. It's a loan from the planet. Any other view is just repackaged xenophobia.
And no, I don't support what the US did in Dresden or interrogate Germans about what their grandparents did, either. I don't refuse to interact with Lithuanians despite them gunning my family down in 1941 and probably taking their homes. A human being is a human being.
The fascist section of the left could learn a little something from me.
I’m so excited to finally launch my Neopets in Filipiniana series! 🇵🇭✨
Week 1 kicks off with a Precolonial Philippines theme. Researching precolonial attire and history for this project was an incredible journey—especially exploring the "golden age" (called that because our ancestors wore an abundance of gold jewelry and woven gold ornaments!). Despite the level of detail required for each design, I’m really happy with how these outfits turned out.
Here is the complete artwork lineup for Precolonial Week:
Day 1 (Aug 1): Kauvara as a Babaylan performing a ritual, with a small Duwende standing nearby.
Day 2 (Aug 2): King Skarl and Lord Darigan dressed in precolonial royal garments with traditional Batok (body tattoos) and gold jewelry.
Day 3 (Aug 3): Tavi (from The Void Within) in Northern Luzon tribal attire holding red rice grains, with two Faellies pounding rice in a wooden mortar.
Day 4 (Aug 4): Queen Amira styled as a Tagalog/Kapampangan Dayang, holding a colorful Sarimanok.
Day 5 (Aug 5): Princess Vyssa portrayed as a secluded Binukot reading a scroll.
Day 6 (Aug 6): Jake the Explorer wearing traditional Mindanao-inspired tribal clothing (Yakan and Maranao woven patterns).
Day 7 (Aug 7): Jeran and my Neosona, Helena Baek in precolonial warrior armor and clothing with Batok tattoos—Jeran holds a Kampilan sword with Datu Lapulapu's name written in Baybayin on the hilt.
Day 8 (Aug 8): Kalinawa (my Island Aisha OC) riding a Balangay boat with a human tribe, while King Kelpbeard, Isca, Caylis, and Maraquan Neopets swim in precolonial Visayan attire alongside a majestic Butanding (Whale Shark).
Next week's theme will focus on the Spanish Colonial Era in the Philippines, so stay tuned! 🌺
I am absolutely thrilled to share that I finally got this artwork submitted just in time for the Discovery of Meridell Day featured in the official Neopets Art Gallery! This scene serves as a fully realized visual celebration inspired directly by the climactic final chapter of my Neofic, Find A Way, which culminates in a grand, sweeping royal ball held within the historic stone walls of Meridell Castle. As a creator who deeply enjoys developing, writing, and editing immersive, character-driven narratives and fictional worlds, bringing this specific emotional milestone to life visually marks an incredibly rewarding moment in my creative journey.
The centerpiece of this illustration showcases Sir Jeran and Helena Soo-Young Baek (affectionately known as Helena White) sharing a tender, graceful dance across the royal blue and red carpet. Jeran is depicted in his iconic, ornate golden knight armor and a flowing crimson cape, stepping in perfect synchronization with Helena, who looks radiant in a vibrant, classic blue gown detailed with elegant white puffed sleeves, gold trim, and a timeless pearl necklace.
Surrounding the dancing pair is a star-studded audience of beloved Meridell heroes, royal figures, and companions observing the spectacular event:
The Champions of Meridell: On the left side of the hall, Lisha the Aisha, Kayla the Zafara, Morris the Quiggle, and Boris the Blumaroo stand closely together, watching the dance unfold with expressions of pure joy, warmth, and admiration.
The Royal Court & Honored Guests: In the background on the right, King Skarl watches over the ballroom from his grand wooden throne with a surprisingly pleased demeanor, flanked by the imposing, cloaked figure of Lord Darigan and the ever-cheerful, crown-wearing King Roo, who has joined the festivities to celebrate the historic occasion.
The Faithful Petpets: Hovering dynamically in the upper left is Jeran’s loyal, winged Gallion with its striking orange and blue coloration. Meanwhile, trotting happily in the lower right corner is Helena’s beloved Doglefox, Gumiho. Gumiho is named after the legendary Korean nine-tailed fox, and to honor that heritage, she has been playfully dressed up with four of Helena’s colorful, traditional daenggi ribbons tied neatly to her tail to mimic the look of the mythical creature.
Thank you so much, hope you enjoy this artwork! Happy Discovery of Meridell Day!
Sonic Movies Superpowered Humans AU: Stobotnik + Other Humans
Thanks to @georgi-girl for sparking my ideas on everyone else's powers!
Tom: A human lie-detector. The longer he knows someone, the better he can tell if they're lying or not. He's not using social cues or body language. It is a sixth sense for him-- he instinctively knows if it is a lie or truth. For example, he can't always tell with strangers, but with Maddie, he knows instantly. It helps and hinders his relationships. His power is one of the reasons he wanted to become a cop. Sonic grows to hate Tom's power.
Maddie: She can communicate with domesticated animals. She can't "talk" with them, but she can figure out what they are trying to express through their own ways of communicating. However, when it comes to wild animals, it's all gibberish. It helps with her job, but gets annoying when everyone shoves their pets in her face. She's overjoyed she doesn't have to use her powers on Team Sonic.
Wade: Force fields. He can create force fields big enough to protect himself and maybe 1 other person, or ones as small as a golf ball. The bigger the field, the less power it has and the less time he can hold it. He can't produce more than a few fields a day or else he gets exhausted and passes out. Due to the fact he can protect people, it was another reason for him to become a cop. He's the first in his family to be born with a power in a couple of generations.
Stone: Can heal with his food and drinks. The healing isn't instant, but it accelerates the process greatly. When he discovers his power, he is an orphan and alone, so he doesn't share his power. It's not until he joins GUN and befriends Rockwell that he finally has a person he wants to heal. Then he meets Robotnik. The doctor is stick-thin and constantly hurting himself during his experiments and projects. Stone takes it upon himself to feed/heal Robotnik. Unknown to both of them, Robotnik's constant consumption of Stone's food/beverages actually helps keep him alive long enough for Stone to save him after Sonic 2
Robotnik: Can control his body temperature perfectly. He hates his power. It is utterly pointless in the grand theme of things. He despises it so much, he doesn't disclose it to anyone until Stone figures it out himself. Robotnik can lower and raise his temp at will, which does help in certain instances. He is able to wear heavy, black clothing in the middle of the summer and still be cool. He can step into any temp and be fine. He can even raise his temp to burn out sicknesses. He may or may not also make himself hotter so Stone is more inclined to cuddle with him during winter. His power and Stone's healing both contribute to him staying alive on the Mushroom Planet. He is convinced that he received his powers from the Robotnik side of the family, but in fact it was his other parent who he inherited it from. Everyone assumes he has a power connected to technology.
Rockwell: Focused super strength. She has to focus on one point on her body to send all of her power to activate it. For example, she can send power to her fist and break through a wall. However, that doesn't mean her body can withstand the power. The more power she sends, the more damage she does to her own body when she uses it. If she does break through a wall with her fist, she will end up with a few broken knuckles. When she was still an agent, and always partnered up with Stone, she could afford to use her strength whenever and however she wanted. She would simply go to Stone and have him make her some food to heal quickly. When he splits off and becomes Robotnik's agent, she is forced to lessen the amount of power she uses. She prefers to send power to her feet and kick people, especially when she wears her steel toed boots.
Gerald: No powers. He never let it bother him as he had his intelligence to take him far in life. He is so disconnected from Ivo, that he actually doesn't know he has a power. However, he hates that Stone's power has saved Ivo countless times. How could his disappointment of a grandson be blessed with accelerated healing while Maria had to die? Gerald does not hide his hatred for Stone
Maria: No powers. She is infinitely curious about powers and who has them. This curiosity extended to Shadow as well. She always fantasized about having a power to grow flowers or to produce any song she wanted, even if it only had a radius of a few feet. It would allow her to dance whenever she wanted to.
Walters: Super hearing. He can hear up to a mile away. On the surface, it sounds useful, but Walters suffers from over stimulation and migraines due to his power. He can hear everything all at once, making it hard for him to concentrate. Thick materials can dampen what he hears, so he can't always hear through thick concrete, walls, etc. His power helped him when he was moving up the ranks, but at his old age, it's more of a hindrance than anything.
People also claim the Gaza war was a total failure for Israel. It was not!
They destroyed threats against them that had been building up for decades.
They are also having countries like Colombia and Slovenia move their embassy to Jerusalem.
And now they're getting a peace-treaty with Lebanon. And I'd bet my left hand that Lebanon is grateful for destroying Hezbollah.
The Gaza war wasn't a failure for Israel, it was actually a total success.
Yes, their international reputation might have suffered. But Israel never cared about that, otherwise they'd have folded decades ago. They value their own safety and support from allies, which has barely suffered or even improved.
July, 1969 - Neil Armstrong & Buzz Aldrin become the first humans to set foot on the Moon. Apollo 11 ended a decade-long “Space Race” between the U.S. and the Soviet Union & fulfilled a national goal by John F. Kennedy in 1961 of “landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth.”
