JD nodded at the bartender before turning to Georgia, "sounds good to me. Plus I always like the cups they serve them in." He knew that was something silly but having different types or shapes of glasses or cups for each type of drink always had interested him. "They are they are. They're going really well. But how about you? How are things with you?"

She nodded at Jackson's words, before chuckling. "You mean, in my love life? I'm afraid there isn't much to say." Opening up to someone wasn't as easy as it was for her to make people talk. So letting a man get close to her heart? That was too much of a big deal for her to be okay with it. "Let's just say that I could turn my latest Tinder date into an episode of my podcast. It was... a catastrophe."

Mariah smiled and nodded as she pet Orion's head as he moved in front of her and sat down at her feet. "Yeah, I guess there have been a few extra people in our house and he has had his limit." she grinned, looking down at her dog. She, too, needed some alone time so she understood Orion being overwhelmed.

"Really?" Mariah asked as Georgia shared that she was looking forward to the holidays to be done with. She's not heard a lot of people say that before. "Any particular reason why?" she asked taking a sip of water from her water bottle.

Staring at the dog was somehow easier than answering Mariah's question. Usually, she was the one asking about life and stuff. Looking back at the woman, she explained, "My family couldn't be around this year, so this isn't as joyful as it used to be." She didn't mention that her brother was living in another country, nor that she hadn't seen her mother for more than twenty years, nor that she was feeling very lonely on holidays this year. "Anyway. Are you looking forward to the new year? Got some big plans for 2026? Cage mentioned a new building, recently."

"We can't let the computers solve all of our problems," she said on a hushed laugh, as though their phones were somehow going to pick up on what they were saying and be angry at them. Which… alright, maybe the future freaked her out a little bit. "Yeah, I don't smell anything hot or burning, that's a great sign," narrowing her eyes thoughtfully, she looked to see which one needed tripped, and then jumped with Georgia, "what the hell was that?" Swinging around to shine her light towards the nearest window, she looked between the outside and her friend. "Okay, so… do we… investigate what that sound was first, or try to fix the lights first?"

That was an opinion, to think that a computer couldn't solve every problem. To Georgia, it was useful enough to solve some of them and that was already a big time saver. But for Elena, she would let the robots in her pocket. Plus she was kind of right: they could find how to make it work again on their own. If they survive, at least. "It can't be anything dangerous, right...?", she tried to reassure her friend - and herself. "Maybe it's just... a tree or something." As she tightened her fingers around the light, she went towards the way out. "C'mon. Stay behind, just in case!" Georgia carefully opened the door and once on the porch, turned her head left and right. "I don't see anything", she whispered.

"I'd probably just look around if I do drop by. I'm not even sure what I do need right now. I just finally finished unpacking a little while ago and still in a constant moment of 'now what?'," he said with a chuckle before giving a shrug. The house still felt a bit bare, though less so than a month ago. But, at the same time, he was still figuring out what to add. "Not when there's too many people?" he then replied, sounding even a bit unsure of his own reply. It wasn't as if there weren't any people watching the performance right now. "If that even makes sense."

Georgia nodded, although she didn't know what it meant, to unpack. She had arrived in town with a suitcase and a box and that was it. "How long have you been in town?", she asked, genuinely curious. That was part of the Merrock beauty: every now and then, you could always meet new people. Unless they're scared of people but fortunately, it wasn't the case there. "Oh, I see. It can be overwhelming when you can't even see what's in front of you because there are too many people in your field of vision."

"You're going to have to hold me to that," he warned her with a teasing look. Everyone who knew Cage knew that he was a hard worker, that his business meant a lot to him, that he was often the first to a job site, the last to leave, beyond dedicated, at the end of the day. But he knew that about himself, and knew that he needed to be able to take the step back to be there for his wife, his kids, his new baby. "I'll still be coming in to bug you now and then, don't worry. Have to make sure you don't rob me blind or set the place on fire," but at that, he grinned, knowing that he trusted Georgia not to do anything of the sort. As they walked along, one hand curled around his hot drink, the other tucked into his pocket for warmth, he looked over at Georgia with a small smile. "Yeah? That sort of thing would interest you?" he asked, genuinely curious. "I don't see why not."

"Oh wow, I thought you trusted me more than that!", she complained while faking indignation. She went extra for this one, even putting the palm of her hand on her heart. Then she let it go, getting more serious, "If you come too often, I'll send you back home." If that's what it takes for him to spend more time with his family in those tender times, she would do it in a blink of an eye. And in the meantime, she'd help keep the shop well. "It does", she confirmed as the conversation switched to buildings. "I did it a little with my father back then, but I was too young to pay attention." She shrugged, "The idea of making homes out of something old or nonexistent has grown on me."

"Exactly, since I've gotten with Naomi, I'm more on top of things when it comes to prepping," it came with having a girlfriend who was thankfully a planner. He was not by nature but he tried to step up. Looking at Georgia, he put a finger to his chin and tapped it as she spoke. "Sounds perfect to me, I'm down for any and all drinks."

"We'll have two moscow mules, please," she asked the waiter who nodded and turned his back to them to prepare their order. "I take that things are still going well between you and Naomi, then?", she smiled, genuinely happy to see her friend living a happy love life.

Mariah wasn't really the outdoorsy type, but Orion needed a bit of a different place to walk so here they were at the Cliffs. Her parents were here and they were spending so much time with the twins, encouraging Mariah to go out and be Mariah and not Mommy. She appreciated their help. It felt good to know that the twins were in safe hands and that they were enjoying themselves.

She huffed up the side of a cliff, Orion walking at her side when she saw Georgia. Swallowing softly, Mariah smiled and waved to the other woman. Georgia was nice, but she sometimes asked questions that Mariah wasn't prepared to answer. She still had to keep things pretty lowkey just in case. "Um... something like that. I think it was more my dog that needed the get away." she grinned giving the Doberman a pet on the head. "Is that why you're out here? Trying to get a break from the hustle and bustle of the holidays?" she asked as she tried to catch her breath.

It wasn't the first time that they'd encountered each other. Mariah and Georgia have met here and there, at some town events mostly. That'd been enough for Georgia to guess that something was odd about the woman, some kind of mystery that she'd love to discover. But Mariah was always elusive, and there's a part of Georgia that understood that behavior all too well. "Who can blame him?," she said looking down at the cute dog. "And uh, kind of," she added when Mariah asked about the reason she was there. The holidays weren't a happy time for Georgia, who just felt the need to escape from other people's happiness. "I'll confess that I'm looking forward to this time being over."

Gasping when Georgia reached for her phone, Elena shook her head, "don't you dare ask the robots! We are strong, independent women, we don't need AI to figure out a little power outage!" Which may or may not be true, she just knew that depending on AI to tell her what to do was going to be a new low. "Look, I'll just… okay," taking a deep breath, she tucked the flashlight into the curve of her neck, head tilted to the side to hold it still and opened up the electrical box, looking inside. "Oh, thank God," she let out a laugh, "my dad had the house rewired a few years ago, and the electrician did at least label what each thing is… so that's a good start."

Georgia looked at Elena with her eyes wide open. "Okay, no robots then!", she quickly changed her mind, sliding her phone into her back pocket. After all, her friend had a point saying they were strong and independent women. Coming closer, she took a look inside the electrical box. "God bless that electrician." She sniffed. "At least it doesn't smell bad so I guess nothing has burned. Do you think we just have to lift up some buttons?", she asked before they could hear a crack from outside, making her jump.

"I do," he replied with a grateful smile. Cage had a good team of people behind him and the business, regardless of anything else. He knew that he could take time off without panicking about things falling apart, be out on job sites without stressing too much about the shop being staffed. It all made his life a hell of a lot easier, that was for sure. "For me, mostly the dad thing," he said with a laugh, nodding his head, "I'll be taking some time off after the market to work on the nursery, spend time with the kids, but we're doing a building downtown for Mariah Kenmore, and I've got a few 'in talks' projects I'm looking to circle back on after the new year."

Watching Cage getting ready to become a dad once more had been quite cute. Perhaps she was biased because she did appreciate her boss, but she was quite confident that he was going to nail it. His other kids were great, after all. "Alright so less Cage in the shop in the weeks to come!" She nodded, then. She knew Mariah, although 'know' was hyperbole. The woman was mysterious. But that wasn't the most interesting part of what her boss was talking about. For a while now, Georgia had been thinking about getting more involved in buildings and renovations although she didn't have much skills for now. "Do you  — do you think I could visit the building site?" she asked, turning to Cage. "I've been curious of how it works."

"True. Can't have him putting me on the naughty list for rejecting his gift," he grinned then frowned slightly. "I don't think I've ever received a creepy doll for a present but definitely have been given awful socks once." Which he never wore. He was eight. At least he didn't throw any tantrums because of it. Not that he could remember anyway. "Oh. Nice. I should drop by. And I haven't. Not really. I dropped by one of the booths earlier, seems to be a popular one. There were too many people so I took a refuge here and watch a performance."

"That'd be terrible", she nodded before chuckling at the socks comment. Somehow, there would always be someone to give terrible things to their loved ones. But most of the time, it wasn't on purpose, so it was alright. Talking about the market, she smiled, "You should come over. I'm biased but it's a really nice shop if you ever need furniture or something made of wood." She couldn't help promoting Creekside. Of all the jobs she had, this one was her favorite by far. "Not a big fan of people?" she asked gently when the man mentioned the crowded booth.

"Well, let's just say that out of you and me… yes, I'm putting my money on you," she admitted with a laugh, closing the drawer after finding a smaller flashlight, flicking it to life and leading the way out of the kitchen. "I feel like you're a pretty good scrapper, compared to me, at least." Walking towards the laundry room, she held her breath as she flashed the light over the electrical box. "Any idea how to work these things?" she asked, turning to look at Georgia. "I mean, I can open it, but once we get inside… clueless."

She chuckled, as she followed Lena's out of the kitchen. She had been involved in a few fights when she was younger, mostly when she had started to defend herself at school. But as an adult, not that much. Then again, she could make an exception in front of a serial killer. Her thoughts got interrupted when they reached the electrical box. "I don't know what we're supposed to look for," she admitted. "But I know someone who would." Grabbing her phone, she touched the screen and opened ChatGPT. Taking a quick picture of the electrical box with the flash, she explained what happened to the AI and waited.

"Damn straight," he replied with a bright grin. At least they could both admit their strong suits and have a good time with talking themselves up. Although in all seriousness, having the person who made the furniture there to help you put it together was probably a godsend for some people, not that his pieces were ever overly complicated. "How could you ever forget?" he asked while laughing, shaking his head. "I don't mind," he shook his head, stepping back from the counter and gesturing for her to lead the way towards the market outdoors. "You've earned a salty treat, I'd say. I'm glad you've been here to help hold down the fort."

Quickly, she checked out everything, made sure that she could leave the place for a break although she had Cage's approval. As she realised that everything was alright, she grabbed her stuff behind her and skirted the counter to meet her boss. "You know that I love being here." She really did. The place was both comforting and a safe zone to her. She shivered when they stepped out, adjusted her coat and scarf. "So, are there any big projects coming up?", she asked. "Apart from you being an amazing dad once more."

Joey knew it's not easy to run a club but doing inventory came with owing a club and if everything was in the wrong place of course they will fix it. "Cheers to that." They would smile back. "Not this time i only did deal with some things."

Georgia nodded. Sometimes, even a couple of things to deal with could be messy. But she didn't ask about it. Understanding that the person in front of her was the owner or the manager, she couldn't help wondering, "What's your favorite thing about this? Managing the place, I mean."

Mena rarely left her son alone, but he was right next door and he was already asleep. Her dog was home as well and would alert if anyone came knocking, not to mention her being able to see Teo via her phone having a monitor set up just in case. "Of course, there's always room for chocolate," she said with a grin, "might have to bring some back for Teo. He'd be very jealous we're eating chocolate without him."

Georgia smiled at Teo's mention. The boy was so sweet that it was impossible to say no. Not that she would have thought about it anyway; Georgia was a giver. "Sure thing. I don't want him to start hating me because I've kept the chocolate away!" She quickly added a reminder on her phone, so she wouldn't forget to prepare a little box for Teo before Mena goes home. "What do you wanna drink?"

Joey always loved to see new people who never came to there club before it was always nice to see that for them the money means nothing if no one is having a good time for there not drinking smoking or even dancing to the music. "I do agree my heads does feel better after seeing everything in order."

Working in a shop, although she wasn't the owner, she knew how easier things seemed to be when everything was at the right place. "Cheers to that," she replied with a smile, lifting her glass as she spoke. "Did you have a lot of things to deal with?"

"Good kids," he said without missing a beat, while fully knowing that he had no right to judge -- Cage hadn't been a bad kid, per se, but it wasn't as though he had been an angel himself. He probably made his sons look good. "Exactly, and hey, people don't have to assemble our stuff, I'll happily come over and do it for them if they need a little help," sometimes without even worrying about a fee. Cage was big about customer service, wanting to make sure that people were happy with the work that they had done. "Oh, well," he said, widening his eyes a bit, "coming from you, that's just so surprising!" But he did. He wouldn't even try to deny it; Creekside wouldn't be what it was without his whole team. "Have you gotten a chance to explore the market much yet? Want to use your break to go grab a pretzel or hot sausage with me or something?"

"And they'd be lucky to have you as their handyman!", she said genuinely. It was admirable, the way Cage was taking care of his customers. On this, he reminded Georgia of her father. And that, of course, made her smile even more. "Oh, yeah, I happen to be part of this team," she seemed to remember suddenly although her witty eyes were betraying her. Straightening up, she nodded as Cage mentioned the market. "Just a little bit. But if you don't mind, I'll gladly take that break 'cause now, a pretzel sounds delicious."
