the thing with bellarke v clexa is like... racism and homophobia can exist in the same space... they influence each other... and they're both present in both ships. you can't say that lexa wouldn't have been treated better if she were a man and clexa was a het relationship, but you also can't say that bellamy wouldn't be treated better by the narrative if he was white, or that jroth wouldn't be so weird about bellarke if bellamy was white. the show has both racism /and/ homophobia (cont.)

this is definitely valid and true, and we all have an obligation to stand up against homophobia/racism in the fandom, especially if it’s coming from ur own corner. today i’m seeing a lot of racism from the fandom, and so that’s what i’m addressing. if i see a homophobic post, i’ll address that as well. u can fight against both, and i think people tend to forget that in favor of their “us vs. them” mentality
