FINISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today we finished the 52nd episode of Nelly & Nora Season 1! It has been the most fun, stressful and rewarding year and we are truly proud of the beautiful show we have made and can’t wait to share it with the world.
Here are a few shots of our brilliant crew during the year, working hard to bring Nelly and Nora to life, no matter the weather.
Have you been watching Nelly and Nora? Join the girls as they play and have fun in all types of weather. RTE Jr, 9.30am and again at 2.55 pm.
Nelly and Nora are looking rather sweet in studio today! Thank you to our Art Director Emma's mam for these lovely Rice Krispie versions of the girls!
Nelly & Nora ; will have its world premiere on RTEjr from 2nd February This delightful series, aimed for preschoolers, follows the stories of two young sisters who spend their holidays and weekends with their parents at the family's mobile home in a camping park by the sea. Nestled between a sheltered beach and a farm, the girls love the freedom of the Camping Park where they spend most of their time outdoors having exciting adventures and making lifelong memories. Spending so much time outside means the weather plays a major part in the girls' daily fun - windy days can be chaotic, rainy days make raindrop music, while sunny days can be just too hot. With charming stories and engaging characters, the series entertains young viewers and encourages them to discover that the weather outside is something to be embraced and enjoyed. &Speaking on his idea for the show, creator Gerard O'Rourke said, "This series was inspired by a regular family holiday in Wicklow and is based on our obsession as a nation with the weather". Gerard noticed that his own two daughters were always playing outside their holiday home, regardless of the weather. While on the other hand, adults tend to allow the weather dictate their every movement. Nelly & Nora; will soon be bringing the Irish obsession with the weather to international audiences as well, as the show will be broadcast and published through BBC Worldwide and Walker Books. The series is developed by Emma Hogan and directed by Jamie Teehan, both new emerging talents in these roles and both have been hugely instrumental in shaping this series and attracting the partners involved. The voice talent include two young girls Clodagh Kane and Aoibhinn Mc Auley who play Nelly and Nora, amazing new talents alongside the veteran Ardal O'Hanlon who plays Dad, Linda Teehan as Mum and Paul Tylak as Farmet Joe!
It’s getting very Christmassy in Geronimo Productions, and Nora is keeping an eye on proceedings from her perch.
Last Friday, the Geronimo team took to the race track. The night was bitterly cold, our burning hunger for victory the only thing keeping us warm. While the track was slick with the tears of the losers one man deftly controlled his kart weaving around his opponents truly a master of the track. That man was Graham Scott a demon of speed and dexterity triumphant and glorious! Until next time at least. Much fun was had, and some of us are nursing whiplash (mostly due to Jamie Teehans dangerous driving), but we will definitely be going again!
The Animation Art Show 2014 is on this weekend. A number of the Geronimo crew have pieces in this years show, so if you would like to feast your eyes on some amazing art, created by the animation community of Ireland and abroad then you should head on down to Templebar Gallery + Studios. The show opens tonight at 6 o' clock with a (adults only) shindig and then the exhibition continues Saturday and Sunday morning. These amazing art pieces will then be auctioned off Sunday afternoon, with all the proceeds going to two deserving charities. This year, the money raised will be going to the ISPCC and The Jack and Jill foundation. http://www.ispcc.ie/ http://www.jackandjill.ie/
Can't make it to the show, but see a piece of art that you must have for that empty space of wall? No need to fear! They have opened absentee bids this year. If you would like to bid on a piece you can find the form and the whole catalogue on the site. www.animationartshow.com
It's set to be a great show, and it's for a great cause. So come on down and ogle some art. Hope to see you there!
And in this corner, the tag team extraordinaire, 'The Wilderness'. Stephen 'The Squirrel' Wylie and Adrian 'The Bear' Ignat. If our animators Stephen and Adrian were to ever give up the ole animation and enter the world of pro wrestling! Art by Stephen @yuzikoi on Twitter
Crowbaby.......
And the Winner of the last Art Competition was Stephen Wylie, with his entry, 'GERONIMO'!!!! Woot woot! Check back in two weeks for the next contest entries.
So here are the submissions from the Geronimo crew for the Animation Art Show 2014. The art show is an annual art exhibition and auction featuring the talented people of the Irish animation industry as well as some international contributors. It’s an amazing show and it’s always great to see the community rally together for a great cause. The charities this year are the ISPCC and the Jack and Jill Foundation.
