God is merciful. In fact, God is SO patient and merciful that it defies our sense of justice or understanding!
Dozens and dozens of scriptures continually point to his loving kindness to wait upon all that have gone astray. Like the parable of the shepherd looking for the wayward sheep, God is continually seeking for each person that is lost and is willing to show MERCY to all - no matter how far they have wondered off the path.
However, there is a DEADline to how far his mercy is able to reach…
When people willingly move so far away from godliness, righteousness and truth then the 'Line Of Mercy' changes into the 'Deadline Of Judgement.'
The socially “politically incorrect and offensive” sins that are listed in today’s verse ( 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ) were not listed in this message. Why? Because for many today, most of the things in this list are perfectly OK, and this raises a question that all of us need to answer, and that is:
What Do You Consider as Righteous or Unrighteous Behavior?.
In our modern free-thinking world, the line between 'OK' and 'NOT OK' is a line of our own choosing. It is not based on any standard, only by what people think or believe. However the question is:
What is your deadline?
Where do you draw the line between right and wrong & going too far?
What to you is acceptable or not acceptable behavior?
Friend, while we are all free to do what we want and think. From God’s perspective there is His Line. From your perspective there is Your Line.
You are free to choose the line you do not want to cross. — Which DEADline is it?

Thomas, as one of Jesus’ twelve disciples, personally walked with Christ, sat under his teaching, and not only witnessed his miracles, but under his tutelage also performed miracles. Yet after Christ’s crucifixion and hearing from his friends that Jesus had appeared to them in the upper room and had resurrected from the dead, He Didn’t Believe It. Standing there with incongruous Irreconcilable Difference towards his comrades, in modern vernacular, his response went something like this:
“No, guys. I don’t believe Jesus rose from the dead. We all knew him as a very good man, a kind and loving teacher and an example for all of us, but he was just a man. So let’s face it guys, IT’S OVER — He’s DEAD — and it’s not possible for anyone to rise from the dead but I tell you what… If I could actually put my hand into those nail prints then I would believe he’s alive and really did rise from the dead.”
Over the last 2,000 years a lot of people have also been a “Doubting Thomas” and have the same Irreconcilable Difference that resurrection from death is impossible. Therefore Jesus is NOT GOD or A SAVIOR and is no different than other great religious figures as Buddha, Muhammad, of Confucius. But…
What if Jesus DID rise from the dead?
What if He IS God?
What if His resurrection opened the door to YOUR resurrection and eternal life as He promised?
Jesus asked Peter “Who do YOU say that I am?” and that is still a question that we all will either openly or privately answer.
If you believe that He did rise from the dead and see and believe he was who He said He was, say and pray this Personalized Version of this verse from the Gospel of John 10:9 —
”I CONFESS with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and I BELIEVE in my heart that GOD HAS RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, and I WILL be SAVED.” John 10:9
Did Jesus Rise From The Dead?!?
YOU DECIDE…

Facing An Irreconcilable Difference

When the last breath is taken, when the eyes to this world close and the heart finally stops beating, what happens?
This is the moment of transition from life Mortal to life Eternal, but for that person that was just here a moment ago where did they or will they “Go?”
While the answer to this has been long been a topic of theory, theology and thesis we actually all have unknowingly spoken the truth about what happens 'Beyond The Veil' unconsciously in many different ways.
When someone dies we use phrases like Passed AWAY, GONE to the OTHER SIDE, Departed, Crossed Over, and Beyond The Veil. That is, whoever they were when they were HERE, are now in Another Place THERE in the HEREAFTER.
So the question is “Where is that There?”
In today’s verse from the Gospel of John Jesus tells us clearly that all those that believe in Him do not cross that veil into 'There' that is a place of judgment, but to a 'There' that is a place of eternal life, and that 'passing to the other side' looks like this:
“For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.” 1 Corinthians 15:53-54
Friend, HOW and WHERE the place ’Beyond The Veil’ IS is a choice you make NOW.
What do you think and believe about Christ and His word about Life or Judgement?

What Lies "Beyond The Veil?"

While we all have a physical heart, there is an even more important heart within each of us, and that is the heart of our soul, and the Bible says that there are many types of “HEARTS” we may have.
Happy people have a 'Merryheart' (Isaiah 24:7) and sensitive people a 'Tenderheart' (Ephesians 4:32) Those fearful or worried can be 'Fainthearted' (Deuteronomy 20:8) yet those who are strong in faith are 'Stouthearted' but the rebellious are 'Stiffhearted' (Ezekial 2:4) while the impudent and unrepentant are 'Hardhearted' (Ezekial 3:7)
However God’s will for us is:
“Let us draw near with a TRUE HEART in full assurance of faith having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.” Hebrews 10:22
This pure, TRUE HEART comes from the Heart of the Saviour and He wants to place HIS Heart in YOUR Heart to complete you and make you whole.
Friend, becoming the wholeness that God wants for you starts with a Change of Heart. If your heart is troubled, angry, or sad, open your heart to His Heart and you will then have a heart of Wholeness, Love, and Peace.

What Kind Of Heart Is In You?
@getnotesonlife @notesonlife
The idea of god, death and the afterlife - and coming to a conclusion about what is fact, false or fantasy regarding these - are perhaps the three most controversial and debated subjects. Opinions about what is true about these varies greatly, and all have the right to believe whatever they believe.
Various world religions also greatly differ who or what is god(s) and how or what an afterlife looks like. Likewise there are non-religious people that have NO BELIEF in 'god' who are equally adamant in their view.
By contrast, the Bible is Very Clear about WHO is God, WHAT happens after death, and WHERE that afterlife may (or may not) be. Today’s verse in Psalm 14 sharply declares that those who say 'There is NO GOD' are FOOLISH. Assuming that the Bible is correct, those that say this phrase in the HERE, will also say it in the HEREAFTER but in an entirely different way and tone - and here’s why.
Jesus taught more on hell than he ever did on love, salvation or heaven, and the Bible says that hell was not only a place of torment (that was originally for fallen angels, not fallen humans) but is a place of total black darkness (Matthew 8:12). More significantly, 1 Thessalonians 1:9 says that those there “… shall be punished with everlasting destruction from The PRESENCE of the Lord, and from the GLORY of his power. What this means is that instead of enjoying the beauty of life and the presence of God’s light and love while standing on the earth, those below will be separated from God — and from anything good or beautiful — FOREVER.
Friend, this is a hard and harsh message but a cry out for all listening to seek the MERCY of God while still standing on the earth. He so wants to give all who call upon His name escape from this terrible, avoidable fate!
Those that boldly proclaim in this life 'There is No God' WILL HAVE WHAT THEY SAY will have what they have said in the eternity to come, and the life and beauty that who God is will be denied from them For Ever And Ever.
What do you say …about God?

Everyone is in a hurry these days, and while people are rushing to and fro, they may want to reconsider the direction they’re heading instead of how fast they are going.
The reality is that we are all rushing to one final destination, and that is that is — life as we know it is going to end at some point. Instead, we’re rushing down the street of life without considering how important it is to safely arrive at our FINAL DESTINATION.
The prophet Amos reminded the Jews how God miraculously saved them from the Egyptians escaping through the Red Sea, yet in the years following were 'swift of foot' to make haste in their own direction — instead of moving towards God.
Friend, are you laying skid marks rushing towards things you think are important? If so consider it’s not how fast or how much you do in this life that is important, but setting your heart on where you are going and how you are going to get there.
Christ is the way. The Bible is the map.
Are you rushing towards God, or to somewhere else?

Being First Doesn't Mean Being Best
@getnotesonlife @notesonlife
In the blockbuster adventure movie, “Raiders Of The Lost Ark,” Indiana Jones scoured the world for the fabled 'Ark of the Covenant,' however once he found it he was thwarted by evil enemies seeking the same prize, and in the end lost it again to a burial of bureaucracy.
Whether you realize it or not, you also are on a treasure hunt seeking the desire of your heart. It could be being accepted to a particular college, finding the perfect spouse, landing that huge job, or having great business, financial, or social success, but even if you do get what you hoped for — like the ark which was wheeled away to obscurity — whatever you had so desperately longed for will eventually pass away.
However like the ancient ark of Israel, there is a treasure that is more precious than anything in the world, but just as the nemesis that were continually seeking Indiana Jones’ demise, there is an enemy that also seeks to keep you from ever finding this priceless treasure, and that is your ETERNAL SALVATION.
You see, as today’s scripture says, where your Treasure is what your heart desires most, so the question is, “What Is That Treasure In Your Life?” and when you come face to face with that, what you treasure most will always force out what is TREASURED MOST, and that is your salvation and redemption from sin and death.
Like Indiana Jones’s adversaries, the devil seeks to keep that treasure from you, but the good news is if you put your heart on CHRIST — the greatest treasure of all — all the evil in the world can never steal it out of your hand.
What is your heart’s desire today?

What Do You Value Most?
@getnotesonlife @notesonlife
On the 1950’s game show “Truth or Consequences,” contestants were asked a question and then had to quickly reply. If they were wrong, there was a 'consequence' and in the comedy farce that was the hallmark of the show, if they also mocked in jest the host AND the question, there was an even bigger consequence to pay. ;-)
While life is not a game show, there are serious questions that we face on how we live and answer the questions of our lives by our thoughts, words, and deeds. However there are some that mock questions about what is presented as 'truth' as outdated superstitious teachings that are not applicable to these times or their lives and see no valid reason for ANY consequences for their actions.
If that’s you, Fair Enough.
On the other hand as today’s verse implores us IF today’s Bible verse is true then Don’t mislead yourself into thinking that there aren’t any consequences for not answering to truth. Sure! You can disagree — but consider this…
Life is a great journey, and along life’s path we all come to terms about what we choose to believe is true or not true. The Bible says that Jesus Christ is TRUTH and His desire is for No ONE to have a CONSEQUENCE! If so, this gets down to a few possibly - maybe even uncomfortable - questions and that is: Do you believe that Jesus Christ is…
The (only) WAY The (only) TRUTH (and) The (only way to eternal) LIFE? So friend, is there really ONLY One TRUTH? And are there really any CONSEQUENCES?
It is always your choice what you choose to believe. What is your answer?

Do We Really Reap What We Sow?
'THE DOOR' that Jesus is speaking about here is the entrance to heaven and eternal life. We all have an opportunity to go through that door, but for a variety of reasons some do not choose to do so.
Some say, 'I don’t believe that door goes anywhere I want to go', or 'I’m going to go through a different door', or best (or worst yet!) 'I’ll go one day (…but I have plenty of time.)'
However as today’ scripture says, some will come to the door too late and then it will be closed and locked. At that point the worst thing that you can hear when knocking and pleading outside the door to eternal life is Christ to walk away and say I DON’T KNOW YOU!
Friend, ALL of us have an invitation to go through the door to salvation and eternal life, but if you tarry or refuse to enter, once it closes no matter how much you stand knocking on the door it will remain closed forever. So friend accept Jesus’ invitation to be in eternity by simply asking you to forgive you of your sins. When you do He will lovingly reply, “Come To Me…and I will give you rest.” [ Matthew 11:28 ]

I was at Starbucks this morning looking forward to enjoying a large black Pike Place coffee and lemon pound cake. It was a perfect day to sit out on the patio but all the tables were full except one by the sidewalk.
Eagerly getting there, I found out why because it was sadly filthy with wadded up napkins, discarded coffee lids and a line of some sticky liquid mixed with crumbs. Grabbing a wad of napkins it only took just a few seconds to wipe everything clean and toss it all into the trash.
In the Boy Scouts we were taught to 'always leave somewhere cleaner than we found it" and it would not have taken that much effort for the previous patrons to have done the same. This got me thinking - "Why didn't they take the time to do that?" And it also raised another question of "What were those people taught to act this way?" which led to an even bigger question of "How are people taught To Live Their Lives?"
In today's anything-goes world, it seems that most people make up their own rules about life, living, and how to act, speak and behave. Rather than being guided by any defined 'teaching', they just Do Their Own Thing with no thought as to how it affects others. Most importantly, they never consider how their actions might affect THEMSELVES.
Psalm 19:8 puts it this way; "The commandments of the LORD are… clear, giving insight for living."
What the Bible teaches always lead us in the right direction. It consistently teaches us to live a life that is honorable, respectful, and considerate. When we imitate God in everything we do, we take on HIS character, and by practicing courtesy we make the world a bit better for everyone.
So friend, imitate Christ in your life. Learn from HIM and take on HIS character and act as HE would act. In small things, Christ would have cleaned off that table, and by HIS TEACHING, we can do even greater things.
God Bless Your Day

In the Garden of Eden life was perfect for man and woman, but after disobeying God the perfection of the world was destroyed by the entrance of sin into the world, and the course and history of mankind since has been marked by conflict, struggles and strife.
We sadly see this in society with crime, corruption, and conflict in our families, in our communities and in our country. In so many ways it is heart breaking and devastating to see our country divided with such distain, anger, and down-right hatred toward one another. When we look at what has happened to us it always gets back to removing God from our lives and not following His ways.
While we as a nation may have left God by not only allowing but approving all kinds of errant practices, God NEVER left us, we have certainly LEFT HIM! espite the moral mayhem that has appeared in the last few decades there is an answer and that is PRAYER, and God gave us the cure for our fractured nation when he said:
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves AND pray, AND seek my face, AND turn from their wicked ways; — THEN will I hear from heaven, AND will forgive their sin, AND will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
Prayer powerfully alters things, and while our country will never be perfect we can help heal the differences within us and bring good things about. While sin will always remain in this world, he still gives us the ability to make right choices — and this always must first begin by 'turning from wicked ways.'
My dear friend, would you close your eyes and pray with me?
Dear Lord God Almighty, and merciful God, We come together in one accord to pray for the deliverance of our sinful ways as a nation and all the abhorrent evil of America that we have done in this world. Help us to be unified abiding and acknowledging Your Commandments and that through our obedience and prayers to bring about a major shift and change in those who are walking in rebellion against You in our nation. We pray for our country to repent and turn back to you, follow you. and turn our hearts back towards You. We pray all of this prayer in the holy name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
