I meant to make this post on #valentinesday but the fact is this week was crazy for me, really no time for just relaxing, so better late than never, right? I Love capturing people and street scenes while traveling. I try to get approval and ask to take their pic most of the time, but sometimes the situation presents itself where you need to act quickly to catch something beautiful, like this interaction between the little girl and her mom or grandma, just so sweet. Look through the ‘heart’ closely and you see the famous McWay Falls of Big Sur! Not the best pic of the falls as time of day we were there we were battling sun and shadows, and since I don’t gin up my pics in photoshop, this is what you get! This is one of the few waterfalls that debouch (fancy word for empty lol) directly into the ocean #bigsur #mcwayfalls (at Big Sur McWay Waterfalls Trail)

Here is another example of the great winter weather here in San Francisco, this time experiencing it in a Zeppelin! What an incredible and fun experience this was! One of the interesting things about the weather here in San Francisco is that during the winter it’s quite often clearer and warmer than it is during summer, as during this time of year the fog stays offshore. I’ve see so many great pics of waterfalls today it has compelled me to post this pic from a few years ago of Rainbow Falls up in Mammoth Mountain. The hike is a relatively easy one except for the part that was basically like walking on a sandy beach, but it takes you past some really cool views and sights. Even nicer was that almost all the trails up here were dog friendly, and we love taking our little doggie with us. She loves hiking I think even more than me! This pic was obviously taken during the summer, and in the middle of a drought. Looking forward to a return trip when it’s really gushing with snow melt. Another of my favorite pics from the trip to Jordan was this one I snapped also on a camel as we were on our own desert safari camel train heading out to a remote Bedouin family clan for tea, brought to this area from the British Soldiers during WW1 to lead the Arab revolt against the Ottoman Empire. This was made famous in the Lawerence of Arabia film. This area was also used for filming the recent blockbuster movie The Martian starring Matt Damon. #wadirum #desert (at Wadi Rum Desert, Jordan)

This is the Monastery located deep in the Lost City of Petra. Most people think of The Treasury when Petra comes to mind, but seeing them both this is even more impressive, and it’s much larger. Problem is The Treasury is comparatively easy to get to, whereas this requires an additional hike of a couple miles, then ascending 900 steps up! But because of that, you get this glorious view, virtually all to yourself! Be sure you pack a lunch and plenty of water! #jordan #monastery (at Petra "The Rose City" - Jordan)
