You donāt have to eat like a vegan to save animal lives. Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO āGo vegan!ā and āItās not food, itās violence!ā are t...
thoughts? if every life matters, would this be more effective? just trying to get you thinking!! (not my opinion)
As a person who is against cultural practices and beliefs that exploit and abuse humans I am also against cultural practices and beliefs that exploit and abuse other animals. People should not be able to justify abuse to anyone just because itās a part of a cultural tradition. Tradition should not be more important than someone elseās life and well-being.
So. I decided to try vegan cheese and chicken the other day and I'm a little disappointed they were super gross Dx (don't worry, I'm vegan and won't stop being vegan) I'm just saying I was looking forward to pizza :/ there's plenty of other stuff tho
dont get discouraged! there are so many different brands and types of vegan cheese, and you can even make your own. it might take some time, but youāll find what works for you. I had to try a few gross types of vegan cheese before I found the one I like (diaya). also, sometimes raw vegan cheese is gross, but cooked itās good? idk
I keep old non vegan products because I can't afford new ones, and it's just disrespectful to the animals who had to suffer and die for me to have those products.
Hi, thanks for sharing. thereās no shame in using what you have, I donāt know if you were expecting me to be against it? What really matters is that the demand you put into the market going forward doesnāt hurt animals.Ā
Instagram???
yeahstillvegan :-)
Iām really sorry but if you sent me a message (not chat) i probably will not respond, i have hundreds of hate messages and i dont have time or desire to go through all of that bigotry so Iām sorry if your message got trapped in there somewhere, DM me!!Ā
Just fyi cows would be extinct if we didnt keep them alive for farming.
I mean, idk about you but I would rather have never been born than be kept in a dirty stall where I cant even turn around and never see the light of day, have my babies taken from be at birth and have my milk sucked out to be drank by another species. just a thought.
This adorable guy is Posh. He is Lazarouās brother that is currently still in the local shelter. Posh needs your help!
Posh is a sweet boy whose injured back leg requires surgery before he can be available for adoption. All of his siblings left to new homes and he has stayed behind! He is in a nonprofit shelter and your donation (tax deductable) could make all the difference for him. Click to help.
More information can be found here on our primary post. The burden of an expensive surgery is painful for a shelter. The smallest amount of help would mean so much. Please consider it even if you can only take a dollar out of your PayPal account!
Vegan finds in Italy :-) surprised that there were options!! Still ate mostly spaghetti pomodoro at restaurants, but hey, Iāll take what I can get.
its weird that mostly all vegetarians and vegans only wanna fight for animals but not the underpaid/overworked people that pick their $15 organic grapes from Whole Foods in the sweltering sun for 15 hours at a timeĀ
here, hang on just a sec, let me give you some receipts here, because ya, of course a lot of fruits, veg and grains cause a lot of human suffering before they get to our kitchens, but hang on a sec
Factory farms are the sweatshops of the food industry. People of colour, undocumented workers, immigrantsĀ andĀ poor peopleĀ are the ones most harmed by animal agriculture. The most vulnerable people in society are used as workers and they are treatedĀ horrifically.Ā
38% of US slaughterhouse workers do not speak any English, and 48% do not have legal authorisation to work, they are at-will employees and extremely vulnerable to being taking advantage of/being subjected to awful working conditions and gruelling hours.
Pregnant women have been forced to stand for long hours in factory production lines without breaks, or perform heavy lifting under threat of being fired, women with heavy periods have been refused toilet breaks so that they bled on their clothes on the production lines.
Human Rights Watch describe slaughterhouse work as a āsystematic human rights violationā. Workers areĀ twice as likely to be injured at work than the average person, and the rate of illnesses alone was more than ten times the national average, most will suffer from respiratory diseaseĀ at some point, workers suffer horrendous repetitive strain injury, hearing damage at aĀ rate of 30 times the national average, and there are approximately 37 deaths per 100,000 employed.
Because the production line is so fast and intense, workers are denied breaks and it is therefore not uncommon for them to urinate and defecate in their own clothes to prevent the line slowing, they work in conditions that leaves them covered in animal excrement and maggots daily, and are so dispensable that they are often immediately fired if they complain.
People working in slaughterhouses are more likely to have problems with alcohol abuse and mental health issues such as PTSD due to working under extremely stressful conditions.Ā
In the UK, āfarmers are twice as likely to contemplate suicide compared to the general publicā and in the US it is said to be as high as four times as likely.
People working in slaughterhouses are at a far higher chance of being perpetrators of domestic violence due to trauma, desensitisation and the normalisation of violence.
Workers are often unable to unionise to fight for better conditions to a point where controversial tactics are used to stop unions forming. For example at Smithfield foods in North Carolina, under Carolina law they were able to create an internal security force with police like powers - they could arrest union supporters and patrol the factory with guns to keep workers in line.Ā Ā
People working in tanneries to make leather from the skin of animals that have been killed are exposed to numerous dangerous chemicals that cause skin diseases, respiratory illnesses, and the machinery is so dangerous it can result in amputations.
In India (and Bangladesh) people have died due to the exposure to these chemicals. These chemicals can also leach into the water supply and affect the air and soil quality, which in turn causes illnesses and diseases in nearby populations. There is an aspect of environmental racism where low-income minority communities are burdened with greater levels of pollution.
Aaaaand whilst weāre on the topic of the human victims of animal agribusiness, countlessĀ people go hungry in countries growing grain to become animal feed,Ā you could feed hundreds of people with what it takes to raise 200kg of boneless beef,Ā 85% of soy cropĀ is used to raise animals for food despite all the starving humans,Ā 800 million people could be fed with the food the US alone force feeds livestock, would you like me to go on?
nahh you wanna talk grapes! but wait, wait, hang on a sec, is it ONLY vegetarians and vegans that eat fruit and veg? do you meat eatersā¦. ONLY eat MEAT? are you exempt from contributing to human suffering because you ALSO contribute to animal suffering? do meat eaters not eat grapes?! jesus kerrrristĀ

Reblogging because I know a lot of new vegans struggle with cheese, so hopefully this helps!! ššš
@vegans who don't support the honey industry
youāre the reason bee are dying
vegans make up maybe 1% of the population, probably less. Thereās more people not eating honey simply because they donāt like it or canāt afford it. But sure, letās sling shit at vegans instead of looking at pesticides, habitat destruction, and climate change, because if we blame those things we might have to actually do something about it and that could involve changing our behaviour. Heaven forbid.
i like calling people āgood beansā instead of āgood eggsā because itās vegan and beans are cuter
