Everywhere that our fellow animals are being oppressed and tortured and slaughtered, their voices are raised, but their pleas go unheard and their pain is ignored... 💔

Older...

When I see articles telling older women what to wear and what to do, to look younger and to not age ourselves, to not make ourselves "look stupid"...I think to myself, "how about you all shut the fuck up!" We can do, look, be anything we fucking want. We've earned the right to live our lives against societies constant expectations and we DO NOT give a shit about any of it anymore. We're older and we've earned that shit.

They are small metal enclosures most pigs in the US are kept in while they’re pregnant on today’s factory farms, until they give birth and are moved to equally horrifying farrowing crates where they can’t walk or interact with their babies.

Gestation crates are so small the pregnant mama pig can’t even turn around. They have no bedding and are typically on a concrete floor that the waste just falls through and collects in open air pit lagoons.

Can you imagine? It’s horrifying. They are banned in multiple countries and some US states, but still millions of pigs a year (most pigs) go through this excruciating intensive confinement. 😭😭😭

This needs to end and is one of many reasons why so many people are choosing #vegan. The meat industry is a very, very sad place for animals and very few people want to be a part of it after seeing what really happens behind closed doors.

An exhortation until we stop breeding animals for exploitation.

Let there be sanctuaries not slaughterhouses until every cage is empty and every animal is free.

Sanctuaries run by vegans work as rescuers, homebuilders, caregivers and educators. They provide animals, bred to be exploited, with a home where they can live their lives safely, in kindness and friendship, and without being used. Sanctuaries provide homes for animals who have liberated themselves, or who have been rescued, abandoned or surrendered from among other places, farms, transport trucks, slaughterhouses, sale yards and backyards. At sanctuaries, animals who otherwise might not survive receive respect, medical treatment, rehab, foster care, forever homes and a life free from exploitation. Why might they die without sanctuaries? Often they have not had the opportunity to learn how to survive or we have introduced them into an environment that's not natural for them, or we have destroyed the environment or claimed land for ourselves. Exploited animals are considered property or feral and pests, and with bounties on their heads they are recaptured or hunted and killed. Another reason is that we have genetically modified their bodies to produce so much flesh or skin or milk or hair or eggs that they need our help to stay healthy and comfortable. Make a new year’s resolution to stop funding slaughterhouses. Go vegan and if you have the capacity, please consider donating, or supporting fund-raisers or volunteering at vegan run sanctuaries.
