Accurate portrayal of me during winter

"Here in Harris County, the unsettling truth is that at any given time, an alarming number of 16,000 abused and neglected children are under the care of CPS. In the last several months, the devastation that Hurricane Harvey caused has undoubtedly affected these children, and the homes in which they have been temporarily placed. Amidst their journey to find new “forever” homes and restore normalcy, we are reminded of not only our mission, but also the goal we aim to fulfill every holiday season: guaranteeing that each child experiences the joy of receiving a special gift during the holidays.
This year we have over 10,500 children eligible to receive gifts through our program, BEARing Gifts. While generous donors throughout our community have already sponsored over 5,000 of these children, we are still in need of gifts for the 5,000+ that remain unsponsored. With your help, we can purchase these gifts and reach our goal.
Even a $5 donation makes a difference, as it allows us to spend that $5 directly on a new toy for a deserving child. Beyond that, $50 can ensure that a child receives two, if not all, of their desired Christmas wishes. And $100 ensures that two children receive at least four different gifts that they requested. Every cent truly counts, and will go directly to this program."
I spent yesterday stuffing envelopes full of these letters to be mailed out to people and organizations who have donated to BEAR but I thought I'd share it with y'all as well.
Don't feel obligated guys, that's not what this post is about. I didn't realize the sheer number of kids from 1month to 18 in the CPS system so I figure most people also aren't aware.
BEAR will take cash donations, you can bring things by the warehouse and drop off gift items or order it from Amazon and have it shipped to the warehouse. There are lots of ways to help out if you are interested.
Right now BEAR is in a lot of need for any kind of toys for kids under a year as well as teen appropriate gifts.

I guess this little nugget has to go to the Renfaire with me
Last night I went out in paint, pasties, and panties!! It was a super thrilling and incredibly vulnerable experience. I don't think I could've pulled it off without my friends talking me into it and never leaving my side all evening. @rcccreations did the BEST job turning me into Cheetara! At the end of the night I didn't want to stop being a Thundercat.
Hurricane Harvey!
I live on a hill so my Harvey experience was not the same as other in Houston. My heart goes out to those many people that lost everything. And my Harvey experience in no way downplays what other people went thru.
I spent the first few day of Harvey by myself in cabin fever when out of the blue a new acquaintance was nice enough to drop me a line. Just so happen they lived down the street. So I set out to retrieve them and have an adventure! Luckily I we hit off! They also had cool point for being friends of my buddy Ben. But for only knowing each other for an hour the week previous we hit it the ground running. Huge awesome thanks to Em food scavenging with me as my healthy selections were not enough for my palette lol first world problems I guess.
Four days with only cats to talk to and Netflix was enough to make me jump in a near stranger's car and forage for tacos and pizza in a hurricane.
He already said all the rest 😄
(I always stock up on junk food I normally wouldn't eat when there is a hurricane coming)
I had a really fun day earlier in the week taking a trip out to Galveston, playing with hoops, and watching my friend juggle.
Decided to play hooky and go to the beach.
I kind of can't get enough of this lately.
Been hanging out with performers lately

After San Diego we spent a night camping and then went to Las Vegas.
Ocean beach was fun. We were pretty lazy throughout our stay. Once again I am super grateful for friends who are willing to host us for a few days <3
J got a tattoo in commemoration of our road trip. I just got a keychain >.>
