Cameron Mathison rant

Drew and Martin both piss me off; they both suck. Here's the difference: Michael E. Knight has always been a delightful, charming, and effervescent actor. Even when he was a "cad" (iykyk), you couldn't help but love him a little. Cameron Mathison has been playing Cameron Mathison for nearly 30 years and has never been likable. At every point in that man's career, he's been shoved down the audience's throat. Can't bank on his youth anymore, and I see they've finally given up on banking his popularity on taking his shirt off every 3 minutes. He's not supposed to be a temporary villain; there should be something redeemable about him. But that's on the writing team; CM can't even be a charming villain? The soap audience is forgiving as fuck. We've watched Sonny kill people (good people!) in cold blood, and while he has his haters, Sonny and Maurice Benard are beloved. You could never recast Sonny. Drew should never have been recast when Billy Miller was still an option, but CM makes Drew extremely recastable. Heck, Trevor St. John could do a better job of making you kinda like the bastard. Anyway, I want Sean Kanan's AJ back from the dead, here to kill Drew, give Tracy hell, and fuck Carly. SK is the only other actor besides Ingo she'll ever have chem with and Carly x AJ 2.0 would be fucking fantastic.
