One of the large windows was broken in the conservatory. Blood coated the floor and nearby surfaces like wet paint. Red splotches marred the pristine white snow outside, along with shoe prints leading into the thick woods surrounding the mansion. Jonathan was nowhere to be found...
The final room Ruby, Jonathan, and Bryce explored was a small conservatory with growing on top of every surface. It was beautiful, but none of the three noticed anything out of the norm. Bryce sighed and walked back out of the room, and Ruby followed him shortly after. Then, suddenly the doors slammed shut, leaving Jonathan behind in the room.
"What the--" Ruby darted back to the doors and gave them a sharp tug. "Jonathan? What happened? The doors won't open!"
Ruby's heart pounded as she waited for him to answer. A bloodcurdling scream rang through the air, one that unmistakably belonged to Jonathan, along with the din of breaking glass.
"Jonathan!" Ruby shrieked, rattling the doors back and forth desperately. Bryce came up beside her, also looking shaken.
"Here, let me!" The words tumbled hurriedly out of his mouth and Ruby moved out of his way just as quickly. In no time at all, Bryce ran at the doors shoulder-first and busted them wide open.
What they saw...was...
Groups began to form and file out of the parlor to various locations of the house.
Robin and Eleanor decided to stay together and look around the second floor.
Ruby and Jonathan formed a group and invited Bryce along to investigate some more of the first floor.
Elliot, Amarith, and Antonya quickly stuck up a friendly conversation and headed to the attic together.
Finally, Nico, Darcy, Bea, and Yvette decided to help the butler and cook tackle the second floor.
Outwardly, Jonathan seemed all business.
“Let's start with the facts,” Jonathan prompted, looking at the faces of everyone around him.
Beatrice looked up from her lap. “That man...something was put in his food that killed him! But who would do something like that? And why?”
“I mean, is it possible there’s someone else here?” Ruby voiced with a thoughtful frown. “Maybe we should split up and search this whole place.”
Murmurs of agreement could be heard from various people around the room.
Tensions were high as everyone regrouped in the parlor. Most people were still trying to come to terms with what they had witnessed. Bryce glowered at Eleanor, who sat on the far end of his sofa. "I don't care what your husband says, I still think it was you."
Robin growled at him. "I do not know how many more times I have to tell you. Eleanor did not do this. I helped her cook. So if you are accusing her, you are accusing me as well."
Bryce paused for a moment, considering. Finally he backed down. "Okay, okay! Jeez. I'll back off, old-timer," he spoke without meeting Robin's eyes.
Jonathan hoisted the body over his shoulder and exited the front door of the mansion, Robin following closely behind.
"If you go around the side of the house, you will easily spot the trap doors leading down to the storm shelter," the butler stated in his usual clipped tone. "It has not been used in decades. Put him down there until a better solution is found."
The brunet turned to face the elder man and nodded his thanks. It seemed like a good solution. The cool temperature of the basement-level storm shelter plus the fact that it was inaccessible from the rest of the house would hopefully mean that the body would be preserved as much as possible.
“Great! We’re miles away from the closest town in the middle of winter; there’s snow everywhere and no cell service. A man just dropped dead in front of us and we can’t do anything about it. Long story short, we’re screwed...”
Ruby's words resonated with the rest of the guests. Rapidly panic set in, everyone talking hysterically over one another until a loud voice silenced them.
"Enough!” Jonathan looked around the room. "Regardless of the situation we're in, we'll solve nothing like this. First things first, let's find a place to put...him. Then we can discuss how to move forward."

We haven’t mentioned the meme blog at all on this account, and weren’t planning to. We spend probably way too much time planning, writing, taking screenshots, and editing. This is our baby. We are proud of our baby. But when you’re in a voice call for 5 hours trying to work out posing and general ts4 glitches and then a picture where Bryce is supposed to be looking angry and jabbing his finger at Eleanor just looks way too much like the salt bae meme, it’s pretty funny to our frustrated and exhausted minds.

"Okay, this is insane," Elliot said with a nervous laugh. "I'm calling the police. Or an Uber."
They whipped out their cellphone, but it quickly became apparent that calling anyone would be impossible.
"There's no cell service."
The announcement was made with wide eyes, a sense of dread settling over them. Getting out of this nightmarish situation was suddenly a lot harder than it had initially seemed.
Bryce turned his attention from mocking Nico to Eleanor. "It had to have been you!"
"Why would you think that?" Eleanor gasped. She had no help in the death of the poor man!
"The real question is why wouldn't I think that," Bryce retorted bitingly. "Simple logic dictates that since you cooked the meal, you had the best opportunity to mess with it!"
Eleanor spluttered, floundering to come up with a defense. Robin, her husband, came to stand at her shoulder. His menacing glare chilled the air.
"You'd better watch your mouth, boy."
Nico fled from the room quickly, barely making it to the nearest bathroom.
“That guy is throwing chunks,” Bryce almost laughed.
“Did he eat anything?” Amarith asked with concern.
“No, I think he just has a weak stomach,” Yvette tried to calm them.
Quickly, Harry was brought to a nearby parlor and set on the ground as they all waited with bated breath. Darcy knelt down next to him and checked his pulse; she stood up slowly, confirming their fears as she shook her head.
“He’s dead,” Darcy sighed. Gasps rang out in unison as panic rose in the room, all of the guests wondering if they, too, had been poisoned.

Who are all the people in the living room?
Heya nonny! Sorry about the late response. The people in the living room were also all invited to the mansion in the same manner as Nico, Ruby, and Antonya. Those three just happened to be the last to arrive. :D

“Yeah right, and there’s definitely a planet called Sixam.” Amarith said snarkily, glancing away.
Harry didn't respond; he seemed to sway slightly, his eyes glazed over and unfocused.
“Harry? Are you alright?” Amarith gave him a worried look. Before she could move a muscle, his head dropped onto the table and his breathing ceased. She leaped up in an instant. “Harry?!”
Delicious scents wafted through the room and they all took a seat at the table as their nerves all relaxed and was replaced by anticipation for the feast laid out before them. Harry was the first to dive into the food, wolfing down each bite.
"Do you listen to podcasts?" Harry asked, his mouth almost too full to understand.
Amarith glanced at the glutton with disgust, "No, not really.”
Harry pointed his spoon at her and swallowed, "Well, you should really listen to mine because I talk about the real shit. The shit other people are scared to talk about." He shoveled another spoonful of soup into his mouth, "You know we live in a simulation, right!?"
"Hello all, my name is Eleanor Parris. As the cook, it is my duty to inform you that dinner is served." She spoke with clipped words, her demeanor brisk.
Everyone followed Eleanor into the dining room.
