it can be tempting to live your life like a prequel. to live as if you’re setting up your own story.and once you lose the weight, once you have the money, once you graduate school, once you’re in a real relationship, once, once, once. then finally, you’ll begin to live, and everything you do up until that point is some kind of half-life, some unimportant foreword you can skip. don’t do this. inhabit your life completely. sink fully into the wealth of your existence. the power to manifest is in the fearless owning of who you are, so that you can shape where you’re going.
Things I love about running.
1. That victorious feeling you get right aftewards when you’re covered in sweat and floating on endorphins.
2. The peace of mind and rhythmic calm that comes after you are in shape enough that you no longer feel the time passing or your legs moving.
3. Audio books. So many audio books.
4. How strong you feel to be able to not only move for hours, but move quickly for hours without stopping.
5. Running fast when you’re angry and feeling less angry afterwards.
6. Distraction free daydreaming time. When I’m not listening to books or music while on a run, I’m lost in my head telling myself long, dramatic stories.
7. When a good song comes on and your speed picks up and for the duration of the track you are literally Hermes with wings on the back of your sneakers.
8. The incredulous look people give you when you tell them you ran 18 miles today. Anything over 5 gets a similar result.
9. Food. The food.
10. Having an excuse to buy new running shoes every few months.
sir will you please stop doing the worm your wife is in labor
ma'am will you stop being in labor your husband is doing the worm
If courage isn’t the absence of fear but doing the right thing regardless of it, maybe confidence isn’t the absence of insecurity but knowing you have real worth despite it
this is beautiful
By this same token, maybe goodness isn’t the absence of bad thoughts or impulses, but the conscious choice to behave according to your moral ideals in spite of them.

Running is running. It hurts, but that’s all it does. The most difficult part of the training is training your mind. You build calluses on your feet to endure the road. You build calluses on your mind to endure the pain. There’s only one way to do that. You have to get out there and run.
I don’t know the source but amazing advice.
Well now I see the point of the yoga blocks! Thank you
