So I’m a big fan of posing pictures and having nice touching comments on how much fun you had with someone or how much you love one of your friends, but personally instead of writing a paragraph of an instagram description on a picture I’m going to tell or text the person and have a nice moment that only we share that nobody else will read.

People say...

My parents and sister can tell that I like this guy and that we have been flirting with each other. We snapchatted for a week straight, and then it stopped. I thought we had a great thing going and I snapchatted him recently and he just didn’t respond, and it was something he would normally respond to. My parents think that the only reason he hasn’t asked me out is because of the girl he went to prom with. In the one class we had together he would always look at me and we went to an event and he kept hugging me and joke with me. It was so fun, how do I show that I want him to ask me out, but not keep pushing him and look desperate?

I can’t tell

So this guy and I only have one class together, we talk a little bit, but lately we have been texting every night. I think he knows I like him and the other day in assembly he was sitting next to the girl he took to prom and engaged in some conversation, but he looked kind of bored (this might have just been my mind messing with me and wanting him to look bored). I love that summer is coming, but I’m scared that our communication will become cut off. Any advice?

I don’t understand...people are confusing

So I was 99% positive I was put in the friend-zone with this guy, previous posts explain the situation. We have assemblies every once in a while at school and I was there early because our choir was going to sing and he was in class with our choir director, so he came early. I was on stage and gave my purse to one of my friends, she has no clue I like him and put my purse in the chair next to him. One of his good guy friends came off stage, from rehearsing, and was about to move my purse, asking “who’s is this?” I walked up and the guy I like says “oh that’s her’s let her sit here I like her more than you.” Then after the actual performance I sat down and the girl he went to prom with sat a couple seats down, they guy sitting next to her left 2 minutes later (no one still has any idea why). She looked down the row and mouthed to the guy I like asking him to come sit with her, he said no because she was too far away. In actuality assemblies aren’t very organized and people get up to leave and come back and are disrespectful, etc. She was only sitting like 5 seats down, and he didn’t move. Throughout all of the assembly he kept whispering funny things off of what the speaker was saying to me, I don’t even really know what the assembly was about because he did it like every minute. So my question is, did he stop liking her and I’m just a friend or am I coming out of the friend zone. When I told my friend (that doesn’t know I like him), he kept whispering in my ear she immediately took it as he liked me, but I don’t have much experience in this, what do y’all think?

Stress

I am a junior in high school and the stress has been coming all year. Teenage drama was crazy enough freshman year and now you have to pile on college. It is now all anyone ever wants to talk about. All of my friends seem to know where they want to go and what they want to do, where I just sit there and they all expect me to go where my sister is at school right now. My sister is an amazingly talented person, she wrote for our city’s newspaper when she was still in high school and she got amazing grades and had a boyfriend all at the same time. Right now my summer job is a camp counselor and my grades are decent and the love part of my life is non-existent. I know a lot of people feel this way too. I can’t wait to get out of my high school where people don’t talk about school and boys 24/7, sure I want a boyfriend but that isn’t what I want all of my conversations to be about! I feel like I’ve outgrown high school and am ready to get to college. We just have to remember that there are always new experiences and new places to venture into, with people you have never met before and memories that could be some of the best moments of your life.

Prom

There is a guy that I have liked since middle school and ever since I met him I have liked him, and have developed a huge crush on him. I was extremely awkward in middle school and so we were friends, but didn’t talk much. This year we became really good friends and he asked a girl to prom that he had just met this year. Of course I was annoyed, especially since we get along so well now (we have a lot in common and have a lot of the same interests). He tells me things that no one else really knows. The girl doesn’t talk to him much and feels awkward around him, they just bring each food and text each other emojis (she has had a crush on someone else since last year) and they went to prom together last night. When I saw him he gave me a huge hug and said I looked gorgeous, which made my heart skip a beat. The whole night she hung out with him and the guy she liked, it looked awkward. In their pictures he looks uncomfortable, in pictures with me he looks adorable. But this morning she posted a picture and said great night with such a great date, I don’t know what to think. They were so awkward around each other and then I see this...I don’t get it. A couple people think they look cute together, but I think that they look like brother & sister. I still had a blast with my friends going as a huge group of singles, but it was hard seeing them together. I’ve liked him for a long time, but never said anything. Anyone had anything like this happen to them or have any advice for what I think is the friend zone that I’m stuck in?

Feeling Alone

I go to a small school, where pretty much everyone knows everyone. Once someone isn't liked they are alone. I am that person. I have one okay friend but she has closer friends and I just feel alone. I hear my "friends" talking about group chats and parties that I'm not in. Most of my friends got asked to homecoming while I didn't go because they wanted their group to just be them and their dates. I am getting to the point where I hate school and my mom asks me who might ask me to prom because me sister had a date when she went. I know I'm not the only high-schooler that is dealing with this, I'm not alone and you aren't alone. I'm here for all of you. If anyone needs advice DM me, I want to help people that are probably going through the same things as me.
