Not that I don’t find the Rekha shirt at Urban Outfitters totally offensive but I wonder why it’s so easy to get NRIs worked up over tshirts and bindis and yet no one talks about the fact that Narendra Modi, who’s likely to be our next prime minister, did nothing while Muslims in his state were killed en masse. Or how Subramaniam Swamy says that Muslims shouldn’t be allowed to live in India unless they acknowledge their ‘Hindu roots.’ Or the ongoing abuses in Kashmir, the Northeast and Punjab. The Rekha thing is gross but it’s like a week old, we already know UO are shitlords and yet we’re still talking about it so it’s like, what are your priorities?
