Summary:

The shadow had escaped AGAIN. Slipping away into a labyrinth of underground tunnels and caves.

The chain determined as ever follows suit. When finding their enemy turns harder than expected they split up to search.

All Legend wants to know is what is with this sassy lost child and why does it look kind of like the shadow.

May I also recommend Blooming Marigold by @winterbird160, Dark Times Call For Darker Measures by dizyeggs, This story of mine is not black nor white it just depends on if you're telling it right by LegacyMaker65.

And DEFINITELY you should check Home by @mysteryn0te ( this one is my favorite). I keep going back to this fic after every A Dark Among the Lights update, it gets better with every chapter, and the writing is *chef kiss* exquisite. This one has saved me from every hiatus of adatl.

I really hope they don’t change the story too much hahaha. But I’d love more tactically complex gameplay, and more/better dungeons. I’m tentatively excited to see what they can do with it!

Downfall Duo's nightmare

I just wanted to draw the nightmares of Legend and Hyrule, but instead it turned out like this.

If you're confused about why Legend kissed Four, it's because he thought he was holding Marin's hand. And in his dream he is drowning and wants to kiss Marin before he dies.

I love the idea of Downfall Duo creating chaos in The Chain XD

Went down a nostalgia trip searching for Downfall Duo fanart… only to stumble upon my own work and choked laughing at my own comic.

It’s already been over two years without me even noticing.

Feels like I’ve changed a lot since then, these days I draw way too many serious things

How this person knew the heroes enough to make pranks specific to each hero, means they probably know them…or they’re just a very dedicated historian with a mischievous streak longer than the entire history of Hyrule, and the magic to pull it off.

It took an intense level of brainstorming figure out how, exactly, I would make Dark's skin glow in the firelight without making it look unnatural and I can't say that I did the best, but. I did it. Meltesh oh my gosh you make this masterpiece and then apologize??? ITS AMAZING IM SPEECHLESS I HAVE NO WORDS. The use of color? The details in the backgrounds? The fact that its fully dubbed??????? You animated the whole last part of chapter 6 I am in awe! The flashbacks at the end of Jack from the different chapters had me pausing seeing the details of the snow wraith collums and him breaking the gang out at the end of chapter 2 AGH ITS ALL SO GOOD. the emotion??? I SHED SOME TEARS THIS IS MASTERY Im on my knees we shall have a spring wedding this is perfection 😭😭😭😭

They share a companionable silence for a while before Hyrule asks, “So if we’re going to each other’s histories now where would you want to go? Legend frowns and realises he’s never considered it, he’s been thinking too much about his current situation to properly consider the implications for the others. “…yours,” he says finally, still obviously thinking it though. “Why mine?” “Because… because I want to see Ganon’s face if I show up again after hundreds of years and kill him for the forth time,” he grins viciously, “Imagine Hyrule, imagine, it’s not some new kid that shows up, it’s the same fucking guy as last time.” Hyrule laughs until he’s wheezing and it sets off Legend. [x]

messed around with comic framing and placing dialogue bubbles in this one... most of my composition training is in film/animation so this was pretty difficult! you don't have to think about dialogue placement when you'll have audio after all.

also shout out to the original sketches of this, they really were nothing

“Move, dumbass!” Warriors yells over the thunderous noise, as he tries to pull him toward stable ground. To safety. He brings out a longshot, but it’s too late. The floor is already shifting beneath their feet.

The great thing about vertical drops is that when I make art of them, tumblr's formatting actively incentivizes me to be indecisive about which version I prefer <3

What I learned from the Zelda games I've played:

Link defeats the final boss with courage. I defeat it with panic, button mashing, and emotional damage.

Link doesn’t cry in the game. But after that (every) final boss? I did.

Link earned the Triforce. I earned trauma.
