CARPOOL PSYCHOLOGARTISTRY Calling all artists, writers, and creative researchers in/around King County to participate in a new 12-hour residency across the state of WA.  Join Psychologartist Peter Christenson on one of his weekly drives to and from Seattle <> Richland (multiple days/drives per week). Starting in Seattle, Peter will pick you up in his car and drive you ~3 hours to Washington State University in Richland (his place of employment). Share in a discussion, make some art along the carpool journeys, perhaps give a lecture or a workshop to the Washington State University-TC campus, and then enjoy the ride home back to Seatown while Peter shows you his favorite spots along the way, all in the same day. Be back at your home before 9pm!

The GHCCRes is proud to announce that Lester Black (Wenatchee, WA) has been selected as our 2021 Scholar In Residence and has been awarded a GHCC Fellowship to support his creative nonfiction writing project and multimedia storytelling collaboration with the Tri-Cities community. He’ll be joining folx in Richland, WA throughout February - May 2021 to conduct research and provide workshops + lectures. With support and funding from Humanities Washington, the Guest House Cultural Capital Scholar Residency program located in Richland, WA continues this fall 2019 with the arrival of artist and creative scholar Philippe Hyojung Kim. Philippe Hyojung Kim (b. 1989) often experiments with various materials and mediums in response to his immediate surroundings to create poured paint-made objects that exist in the space between painting and sculpture. His work references queer identity, artificiality, and language while refraining from traditional figurative representation. Philippe will be in residence with the GHCC from September 3-13, 2019 and he will be hosting a lecture and artist talk (free + open to the public) Tuesday, September 10 @ 10:30am – 12:00pm @ Washington State University TC, TEST 266 (East Auditorium).
