Last weekend I was to be found celebrating the Oban Winter Festival in the coastal town that is typically the beginning of so many Scottish island adventures. The Festival is a carnival of food, drink and culture as whisky and haggis tasting collide with huge firework displays, countless kilts and passionate ceilidhs. Here’s the view over the town and the circular folly of McCaig’s Tower….with a decent vista of the west coast as well.
