just wanted to share.

A Humans Greed and Immortality

Long before we got to this planet, there were beings here who ruled over everything. They had jungles of steel and glass and made towers that touched the sky. They had everything they could ever need or want yet they craved more. It was their need for more that killed them, some wanted fortunes others wanted power, but one in particular wanted immortality. He tried everything from soul transferring, blood transfusions, testing the limits of the mind and body, and even tried finding time travel. But no matter what he tried he could never outrun the claws of death.

We searched the concrete jungles for what ended the beings that came before us. We found newspapers, mail to those who were ‘chosen by god’ for the experiments, video recordings of news broadcasts, and even the lead scientists lab. Evidence of the experiments that were done was found; no being in existence could even begin to think of the horrors and monstrosities the scientist committed just for selfish gain. He couldn't even be bothered to contain his ‘repented’ experiments, just let them run free through the streets and terrorize the people of the cities.

We’ve found news recordings of the drafts; the footage was heart wrenching. Families torn apart, children ripped from mothers, people from all walks of life were taken for experimentations. Many were fighting to not be taken to the point the military was called in to force compliance and those who still didn't follow orders were shot dead in the streets.

But it seems in the end the scientist may have gotten what he wanted for sometimes our researchers never come back from the jungles. We can't be sure if it's one of the repented who keeps taking our researchers or if it's the lead scientist himself. It is believed the lead scientist is responsible for the disappearances for there is always one person who goes missing at a time and we never find the body. From our data, If it was a repented it could be whole squads disappearing and we would find a massacre left behind.

We eventually stopped sending in researchers for it was too dangerous and we had all that was needed. Now the story of the scientistwith greed so strong he killed his entire race for selfish needs has become a folktale parents tell to misbehaving children at night. Always telling them that if they don't clean their room, go to bed on time or even don't eat all their vegetables at dinner the lead scientist from the concrete jungles will come in the late of night to take them back to his lab to continue his experiments. Though many historians believe the only experiments he is conducting now is how to end his infernal punishment. Though it would seem he's been unsuccessful for curious teens still go missing in the concrete jungles.
