A Cross For Meditation
Significator: The King of Wands (The Creator) A man of purpose, passion, and conviction. He is powerful and capable of "bending" the light around him to make the world seem new and full of opportunity. He uses the tools at hand and burns through obstacles in his quest. His weaknesses are arrogance and self-righteousness. Justice crossing him indicates that he is ready to push his energy outward, and forge the life he wants for himself.
The 4 of Cups as the Crown in the reading indicates a need to decide just how to use the self he has been nurturing and perfecting. Now that he has the power to shape his destiny and purpose, he must choose between the paths laid out before him. The 4 of Swords beneath the King (notice the two 4 pair, 4s are ruled by the emperor and relate a need for decisiveness and discipline in one's journey) is indicative of the period of meditation from which he has emerged. He has meditated on his life up to this point, on his strengths, passions and identity. He is stepping out of his inner meditative tomb, now directing the newly discovered power outward.
Behind him is the 7 of Swords, indicating that in his past he spent much time compromising himself. He has been wearing a mask in order to assimilate with with people. He mistakenly believed that the only way to have a place in this world was to be acceptable and non-offensive to as many people as possible.
The Tower ahead will shatter that mask. As he learns to share this new self, unconcerned with the opinions of others a new and more powerful person will emerge from the destruction of the mannequin projection.
The Magician as the Self indicates that he as the tools he needs to move forward. The Ace of Swords as his house confirms the new self-knowledge, pushing through the clouds of expectations and projections others placed on him. The World, the hope requires one last piece before the journey can truly begin: he must find a direction.
Taking his Wand in hand as the resolution gives the completion promised by the world. The King of Wands is strong, full of energy to complete anything he decides to take on, but first he must discover which wand shall be his, what purpose and cause he will fight for.

Also I'd like to take this moment to remind you not to be fatalists regarding the cards I read for you. If they are helpful and relevant to your situation, great! But if something feels off to you, it probably is. After all I know so very little about you askers, and the internet can only be so intimate! That being said, it is my pleasure to do readings for you anytime you would like them!
If you'd be so kind to give me feedback on your readings, I would really appreciate it. Just let me know whether or not you found the information helpful / relevant, and any other details / critiques you'd like to give.
Tarot Reading for Beginners
"Hi , I'm planning to buy tarots cards are they expensive and I don't know how to use them ? What can you tell me I'm new thank you :)"
An excellent question Luis.
If there is an occult store near you- or even a bookstore, if I'm not mistaken- you can probably find a new deck there. In my experience, local specialty stores will be a little more expensive, but that is more because they have to have higher prices to stay open. As there is no such store available to me, I purchased both of my decks from Amazon.
Some people are sort of grumbley when it comes to buying your own deck. They believe that decks should either be gifted or found. As there aren't many people thinking about buying tarot decks for their friends, and even less people with tarot decks who just leave them sitting around, I encourage you not to sit around and wait. You can find used or new cards on amazon, and really whichever you choose is just your preference. For people who are completely new I usually suggest some Rider Waite variant. I use the Golden Universal. Others are Aquarian, Original Rider-Waite, Rider-Waite, etc etc etc. I just type "tarot decks" or "tarot cards" into Amazon or google and see what I like. There are many, many decks to sort through and choose from. Here's a little info on my two decks:
The Osho Zen Tarot
This was the first tarot deck I ever personally owned, but note it was NOT the deck by which I learned / first read tarot. I spent some time reading Rider-Waite's and understanding them, after which I searched for something that was a little more "me." The imagery and themes in this deck are centered in zen attitudes. While the meanings DO line up with the traditional one, often it comes from its own angle, which would make me think it is not the best deck to "learn" with.
The Golden Universal
Those of you who know Rider-Waite will see an immediate resemblance in the themes / imagery of this card. This deck is rather beautiful; the cards are not only adorned with gold foil (which is what causes certain parts of the card to shine), but the cups, swords, pentacles and wands are all simulated as inscriptions. The cards have texture, giving them extra depth and light. That being said, The makers did not put words on the cards, so if you tried to use this deck to learn you would have to (at least) memorize the major arcana. The imagery for the minor arcana (cups, swords, wands, and pentacles) does speak for itself, though.
People come at tarot cards (well, people who see value in them) in one of two ways. Some folks see them as properly supernatural. They believe in a psychic power or oracle intuition. Others use them as tools, understanding it to be a more psychological experience. That is more the perspective I come from. While there are traces of spirituality in my general philosophy, I see the cards as sorts of mirrors, utilizing archetypes and imagery (for the most part) specific to all people (who are privileged enough to be reading tarot cards in the first place). I think no matter which way you view them, the learning and understanding is the same.
I first picked up the cards 3-4 years ago, when I was turning 19 years old. It was very interesting, I would pull cards and look up their meanings online (I'm pretty sure via Aeclectic.net). Though I did put them down for a while after that, my friends eventually got into them and I found myself drawn to them once more, though in a deeper way. It was / is a nice way of bonding and getting to know others. For those completely new to tarot, I highly recommend learntarot.com, which offers keywords and phrases as well as descriptions. Biddytarot is also very good and offers reverse meanings. Aeclectic, though, is full of great information (that might overwhelm beginners).
You have to spend a lot of time with the cards to really get to know them, to have these keyphrases and meanings come automatically to mind when you pull them. All of that being said, what REALLY makes a good tarot reader is reading without this information. I believe in the traditional meanings as a baseline, but eventually you just get these little nudges, little sparks of intuition that tell you "I think this means that," even if it isn't quite coloring within the lines of what you learn. THAT is the meaning you should go with. Let your thoughts and feelings bounce off the cards. Tarot cards work because they are archetypes (i.e., themes and issues that every being struggles with/ celebrates). When you put the card into a spread, that spread puts the archetype into a context.
To me, it is not the cards that tell us things, so much as they allow us to see what we already know. It pulls out those issues we don't want to deal with by "surprising" us with wisdom that we already had, but had difficulty drawing out. I hope this was helpful, Luis. If I can better explain anything / answer more questions for you please let me know. I've been wanting to do little how tos like this anyway! Good luck to you!
I seem your giving tarot readings and I'm really interested in tarot and am looking into buying a deck. Someone referred me to the decks fenestra , shadowscapes and crystal visions and I'm between the last two. Do you know another feminine interesting decks like that?
I like this question! Just for folks' reference:
Fenestra Tarot
Shadowscapes
Crystal Visions Tarot
I highly recommend Shadowscapes (I don't own the deck, but my friend does and it is particularly stunning).
I'm not very familiar with what you call more "feminine" decks beyond shadowscapes, but I also would point you to "Joie de Vivre" tarot.
Joie de Vivre
I’m always accepting asks for tarot readings. Be patient with me. If I haven’t answered in a week you might want to nudge me. Sometimes I get distracted.
I am happy to do anon readings! Specify in your asks if I can post your reading publicly or if you would like it to be private. If you do not...
Bout time to catch up with my current asks. Also, I'm probably going to stop replying and actually write a post so I can tag and people can find my blog. =p
Hey , do you somebody for me ? In love I need a parther lol I'm a Leo sun my bday is July,29,1998 I'm 15 and my name is Luis Thank you so much :)
My friend there is a lot of impatience in you're reading. That does not really surprise me for a Leo ;). You're environment- Strength- is urled by Leo. someone, or perhaps the general events of you're life are attempting to teach you to be quiet, to close your clenched jaws and experience quietly, moment by moment, rather than rushing you're life along- seeking only one thing. There is much else to see along the way, and you will miss other beauty on youre quest for love.
You have planted a seed in yourself, that what you want right now is love. You are ignoring the journey, too excited to get there. You sit waiting with all of your feelings, doing absolutely nothing, just waiting to give them to someone. To validate your Self by people wanting you.
The cards indicate that you need to separate yourself from people, in a way. Not necessarily being detached, but by considering yourself apart from them. You are neglecting the tools and talents you have. You think that you will only understand yourself in context of another person. You hope for self-security, certain that it will come to you from the people around you.
Self-knowledge does not come from outside. You can see it reflected by your actions, by things you find beautiful, and perhaps, yes, you can see it in people you love. But these things will not define it for you. At the end of the day, even if you were staring into blackness- completely and wholly alone the self would still be there ready to be discovered.
If you continue to neglect yourself, waiting for the life to build to validate you, you will be sorely disappointed by any "love" you find. You need to understand who you are alone, and love the good things that you do, love the subjects that touch you. You are selling yourself short and sleighting yourself of happiness that comes from being alone.
In short, my friend, slow down. I will tell you what I have told many others. If you go chasing love, it will drag you through hell. If you allow love to come for you, it will touch you unexpectedly, gently, in a way that resonates through you're entire being. If, while CHASING love, you find someone- you ultimately project the love you were chasing on a person. Thus you do not even know them. Thus you have created this ideal person- to whom the REAL person cannot possibly hope to match, and should not be expected to. Fall in love with the REAL person who comes into your life as a surprise.
Note that it is not a "no," fierce Leo. To find love you must be patient and observant. Enjoy even the times that you are single and do things you love. Foster your talents and love yourself- fall in love with your SELF. The better you know your self, the more prepared you will be when that romance finally and coincidentally passes by you.

But first read the FAQ
Hello. I am also a cancer teenager (I'm also a girl, I don't know if that other Cancer was or not) with a friendship/love problem. I have a good friend and she has a crush, but her crush is leaving her town soon. I recently comforted her about it and I have recently started to develop feelings for her. I would like to know how she feels about me? I would like a relashionship pull. Thank you very much.
Your crush is in a difficult place right now. The person her heart is set on is leaving her and it is difficult. You are being good to her and trying to do the right thing, but pursuing a relationship with her now might cause problems. There might be sleepless nights where you wonder if she actually wants to be with you or if you are just the placebo for this other person she is pining for. Stave off the crush for now, allow her time to heal before trying to rush into anything.
You: Justice
Her: 3 of Swords
Synergy: 9 of Swords
Advice: 7 of Wands
Thank you for the reply! I am hoping to find out whether or not I'll be in a relationship anytime soon :) Thanks!
You are another "victim" of my one card, yes-or no practice. If you'd like something a little different I will try to find something a little more in depth.
The Ace of Cups reversed doesn't really seem a yes or no for me. I think it indicates that your emotions are spilling out everywhere and you might be wanting love too much. I think you need to reign yourself in a little or relationships that you do get into will be tainted by projections of how you want your love to be. I think it will make it difficult for you to see any partners clearly. I once had a teacher that told me if I chased love, it would drag me through hell. This is absolutely correct. Our feelings are obviously important when seeking a significant other, but we should allow love to touch us, rather that printing out stickers that say love and putting them on certain people or things. That is to say let that spark come to you and don't try to force it too much.
FAQ
I'm always accepting asks for tarot readings. Be patient with me. If I haven't answered in a week you might want to nudge me. Sometimes I get distracted.
I am happy to do anon readings! Specify in your asks if I can post your reading publicly or if you would like it to be private. If you do not tell me either I will default to public.
I WILL do general readings, but it is better for both of us if you give me details about your situation and what it is you want to know. Sun Signs (Venus signs if it is regarding love, Moon signs if it is regarding inner struggle) are helpful references. Be specific, if you ask me for a general reading and are dissatisfied with it all I can say is that you gave me no context. If you look through my blog you can see the more detailed asks got more specified answers, and less me throwing out a number of feelings I got and musings about what aspects of your life it relates to.
I have two decks: The Osho Zen Tarot and The Golden Universal. If you have a preference of one over the other, you should let me know.
If there is a particular spread you would like, also let me know.
Was wondering if you would do a tarot reading for me, i also use cards but i want a second opinion. Im going through issues with my best friend right now and im about to graduate and everything is overwhelming anyway i keep getting cards that are saying im going be rewarded and that my friend is going through some materialistic stage and doesnt have the spiritual strength so im just like argh! i dont even know if i want the friend back i just need more guidance!
I did a 4 card relationship pull (don't worry, it is appropriate for friends just as it is for lovers. I appreciate this spread a lot and use it often).
The deck spit an extra card at me that I'd like to address, the 6 of cups. It is about nostalgia and the sharing between friends. I would ask you and your friend to think about the time you have shared throughout the years and appreciate each other better in trying times.
Your card is one that always looks grin when a person pulls it. 10 of Swords. But remember that every card can be a "bad" card, just as any card can be a "good" card. 10s simply represent the end. As swords are focused on intellect and communication I think it likely just indicates that you are going to graduate a start a completely new page of life, with different responsibilities and environment.
8 of Wands as your friend indicates motion. This might be chaos in himself as he goes through changes (sorry I'm using him, you didn't specify a gender so I just kinda picked one). It might also represent a literal move. Both of these cards can indicate that you might not be in each other's physical vicinity forever. Remember, though, that there is no reason to end a friendship simply because of distance. All of my friends are long distance, an it might take a little more effort to reach out. Also I wasn't sure I got the gist of your ask but if there is distance now I think you will see that the overall reading points to putting effort in.
The Queen of Pentacles as your synergy is pretty much about friendship. In trying times of change and confusion, friends need each other to talk things through and stay grounded. If you focus on the faults or failings or obstacles of the relationship, you forget (what I was saying about the 6 of cups) what the friendship is like in good times. You are both stretched. Try to be there for each other to help you both find footing.
the 5 of Wands as advice is difficult to read. There might be a number little arguments bubbling that have yet to be addressed between you. You need to communicate about these things, bring them out in the open and settle them, to help mend this relationship.
If I can give you anything else, please let me know. Be patient with your friend and understand what his / her trouble is.
Oh yay! You should make a FAQ also, they are very helpful for when people ask for readings. :) Okay, I am a Cancer, and I am a teenager. My current situation is that I have a crush on my guy friend, but I don't know how he feels about me. I do not know if he is even good friends with me, even though I am 80% sure he has hit on me before. Can I get a relashionship reading please? Thank you very much. :D
Sir Cancer (I'm a Cancer Moon, Venus, and I think something else),
For you I drew the Star, which is a very cancery card. The woman depicted here is pouring water into the pool, that people may drink. She pours more water on the ground, so that fruit trees can grow for people to eat. As she and the Fool discuss stars, she begins to disappear, with the message that following a star, even if it remains at distance, can keep you on your path. The star is all about serenity, loneliness, intuition, and inspiration. If this card marks loneliness in you, beware that this interest is not simply desperation (I couldn't say if it is or not, based on this).
The Emperor as your boy's significator indicates that he has a more controlling personality. It might indicate that you ought to wait for him to make the move, or that he might be a little too interested in his structures or might try to force them on you. Because I happen to know the rest of the cards in this reading already, I'm more intended on the "let him make the move" analysis.
The 10 of wands Reversed as the energy between you two tells me that you have a lot you wish to share with this person. It may indicate a little "uhaul" syndrome, as in becoming too vested too fast.
The 9 of wands reversed as the advice is what makes me think you should let the other make the first move. A wounded man stands guarding his wands. He will not allow anyone else to guard them or to hurt them, even though he is worn quite thin. Reversed I think the message is lighter for you, that you need to slow down and keep some wands to yourself until you understand better what the other person wants.
Hope this helps! HMU if you have questions.
-Noah
I would love to get a reading from you. I am currently on disability from work and am having a hard time of it right now. I am also concerned about my relationship. Thank you for your time and energy.
Hey there Dreamer. I wasn't sure if you were having a hard time because of finances or just dissatisfaction from having to be out of work. That being said, I drew the first card of this reading and had a pretty good idea of the answer.
It seems like you're living on a budget. 2 of pentacles is about juggling things, - bills, responsibilities, etc. You can't necessarily take care of everything at once, but as soon as you have to you are able. It might make you feel a little chaotic, but give yourself credit for balancing it right now.
8 of Wands tells me you're itching to be active again- to get back on your feet and moving. Likely that is causing you some upset, too. Your funds feel stretched and your body is restless. The Knight of Pentacles however, kinda echoes what I said in passing earlier. It encourages you to both enjoy this time of rest and even if it does not leave much room for luxury, know that you will take care of the finances even if they run thin. Embracing the present-focused two of pentacles will bring some relief to you. The Page of Pentacles is your support card in this, and he will ensure that even if unknown material troubles head your way, you will have the grounding and common sense to deal with them effectively.
The Knight of Swords as the resolution does not indicate that things will necessarily get easier, but if you face things with the grounded-ness of the Pentacles Court you will have patience and be more at peace. If you are able I'd also suggest you go outside.
Sorry, got a little deviated. The Knight of Swords (a card that I am pulling a lot lately with both of my deck), says to stay focused and be rational. He is also the Sword Court Card of motion and indicates something of a battle.
Be patient, don't get too caught up in what's ahead or what could go wrong. Face these issues as they come, and be sensible with your money. Find a hobby or craft you enjoy to keep your mind at peace. Sometimes if we engage too long in doing nothing we find ourselves making reasons for unhappiness.
And as for the love reading...
This is a very strange reading. Your significator is the Tower. Your others is the Wheel of Fortune. The Tower shows that you have either just emerged from an inner, complete, perhaps even unpleasant "makeover," or you are currently in the middle of that change which would indicate a lot of inner struggle and chaos for you right now.
The Wheel of Fortune as your "other" indicates change, too, but more as and end / new beginning. Your synergy card is the world, which signals the end of something. There are a number of "end" cards in tarot, but this is the ultimate one in which the Fool dies. This might be the end of the relationship.
The High Priestess as advice kinda indicates that you need to focus on yourself anyway. With the Tower as your Significator it is easy for me to believe that.
I hope this is helpful, if you have any questions do hmu. Sorry for the delay on this. <3
Catching Up On My Asks Now, But...
Was wondering if I could get an opinion as to the meaning of a reading I did for myself.
It's called "The Search for the End"
Position 1: The Starting Point - 2 of Cups
Position 2: Strengths - Knight of Swords (Reversed)
Position 3: Unresolved Problem - The Devil (Reversed)
Position 4: The Environment - The Fool
Position 5: Ignored Talents - 5 of Pentacles (Reversed)
Position 6: Weaknesses / Bad Habits - The Sun
Position 7: New Possibilities - 3 of Pentacles
Position 8: A Test I Must Pass - 9 of Pentacles
Position 9: Destination / End - Ace of Wands
Side Note: Also About to create a FAQ for asks as it came to my attention that might be helpful.
Hello, I read your reading a lot and I am wondering if you do anons? I'm sorry if you have a FAQ, my phone won't let me load some tumblr page stuff right now. :( I can give you a little info about me for the reading if you are willing to give me one. :)
I don't have a FAQ, but I should probably make one!
And yes, anons are just fine ^_^
-Noah
Hello~ I really admire your reading style, and I would like to request a reading about the evolution of my spiritual practices. Recently I've been experimenting with some different ideas. It's all very interesting, but sometimes I wonder if I'm headed in the right direction. Some outside input would be helpful. :) If you'd like, I can do a reading for you in return. Anything at all! My name is Natasha, my sun sign is Taurus, and if it helps my moon sign is Gemini. Thanks!
Baha! I'm a Taurus too! Moon is Cancer, though. Honored to get to read for you, I enjoy reading your blog very much. I would love a reading, when you have the time. My question is "when should I move?" But, anyway, lets get on with yours ^_^.
Gonna do the good old celtic cross. Your significator is the Page of Swords, crossed by the 5 of Wands. Your crown is the 8 of Wands, and beneath you is the 5 of Cups. Behind you is the 8 of pentacles, before you the 6 of Cups. The self as the Queen of Cups in the house of the 2 of Swords. Hopes / fears as the 7 of Swords. Resolved by the Knight of Swords.
Haha, couldn't have framed the situation you detailed better myself. The Page of Swords (in my deck) is the mind, is all about new ideas and studying them. The 5 of wands shows a number of new ideas you might have about how you'd like to evolve your spiritual practice. It also kinda infers that no one path is quite standing out to you right now, as they are all new and you are not yet sure of how you feel about them. If I may add my own little bite of advice, spiritual practice is much more about the heart and feelings (intuition) than some pre-prescribed ritual (reason). Just my thought, a feeling I got from those first two cards.
The 5 of Cups beneath you demonstrates hesitation. You are obiously attached to your practices now, and perhaps you worry that changing them will somehow taint them (an idea I think is echoed by the 7 of Swords later in the reading, but I'll try not to skip around. I just don't want to forget the pairs I'm seeing here). Note also that there is a pair of 5s. 5s are the obstacles to their suits (which return with the 7s, though 7s would imply that you know better how to confront these challenges). 5s are new, uncharted territories.
The crown though, something of your weapon against the fear beneath you, is the 8 of wands. Readiness- you are prepared for change. You have learned very much about these practices which make you happy, and you want to take them in your own direction. You do not want to stop, as though you know it all.
Behind you, the 8 of pentacles echoes the 8 of Wands. The 8s are ruled by THE VIII, Strength. The 8 is all ABOUT perfecting your craft and as it is in the past I think you HAVE perfected this stage- at the very least the basic understanding. You have mastered what IS known about these practices. The 6 of Cups ahead shows that now you must take it in your own direction, you must make it more personal- you must make it YOU. And, as it sits in the future it confirms that you will!
The Queen of Cups in the house of the 2 of swords. Sorry, lets consider them separately. The Queen of Cups tells us to trust our intuition and go with our feelings about things. If something feels wrong, you will feel it in whatever way your intuition speaks to you. When I have done wrong I feel it in my stomach, when I have done right I feel clear, joy, etc. I'm not sure it's the same for everyone, but trust these feelings. The 2 of swords is afraid to make a move, just like the 5 of cups. 2s are about decisions and ruled by the High Priestess, just as a side note (you probably know these things already, I mostly provide the information for people less familiar who are reading along at home). It shows fear to make a decision, fear that comes from fear of the 7 of swords. Fear of desecrating these sacred practicies you hold so dear to heart. Fear that you might do this selfishly, fear that you will bring shame to your craft. The queen of Water reaches out and feels, and the things she touches sing back to her in the High Priestess Silent Voice (though she is more rightly ruled by the Empress, her strong intuition and watery heart resound powerfully with II).
The Knight of Swords at the end of our staff, however, wants you to know that there is nothing wrong with coming at this from the perspective of the mind, but the swords seek marriage with cups in this endeavor. The mind is an important tool for explaining and understanding things both to our Selves and to others. While the sword can represent too much thinking, negative thoughts, anxiety, etc, at its rawest, most beautiful potential it is a tool for slicing through confusion, brushing aside clouds to discover clarity.
When you approach these new ideas, feel them with the Heart of the Watery Empress. What appeals to you? Explore it, feel it with your heart. If it feels right, enjoy that and then consider why. If it feels wrong, avoid it and understand what about it is at fault.
You are coming into a very personal relationship with your spiritual side. There are guides in magic, in zen, in tarot, in everything, but now that you have learned what is there, it is time to forge and create what is NOT there for yourself.
So i think you definitely ARE headed in the right direction, but remember not every step is perfect and sometimes we make wrong turns- but wrong turns are adventures in themselves and offer unexpected lessons.
I wish you the best!
-Noah
