Just some add ons for my thunderbird powers AU cause now I've given it attention and its rotting me again 🙏
Gordon HATES saltwater crocodiles with a passion. He says they're the most passive aggressive c*nts to ever evolve on earth.
This is because he tried talking to one and it told him to fuck off and swam after him anyway. Gordon propelled himself out of there so fast he swam into a sandbank upriver and gave himself a concussion.
Virgil tried to pacify it with his aura and the only thing he disclosed to the rest of them is that they were, in fact, c*nts.
John once jumped into Gordon's computer and jumped straight back out and remotely destroyed it.
They would only talk to eachother through Scott for the next week.
One time on a rescue Scott had a premonition of a rock falling on the head of a civilian. He was on half an hour of sleep and a protein bar. He headbutt the rock and ended up knocking over the civilian in the process.
Jeff created a series of files on each of the boys once their powers manifested. In these files is the nature of their powers, strengths and weaknesses, exercises they should try keep up with etc.
Alan has many acquaintances in the spirit world! Some he loves, some he tolerates, some he tries really, really hard to avoid at all times, some who go out of their way to absolutely annoy the fuck out of him whenever they pop up.
For example, he has a friend called Jason. Kid died in the 80's, about 18, sits there and watches Alan play his video games and gives commentary. He's chill as fuck.
Then there's Renick. Absolute wanker. Doesn't know when he died. Doesn't care. When ghosts touch Alan he gets heebie jeebies and like a really cold feeling where they touch. Renick appears when he sleeps and like, does anything from sticking his fingers in his ears to tickling his feet to disturb his rest. Alan swears up and down he never did anything to that old coot and has no idea who he is. He just appeared one day. He was scared at first. Now he's so over it.
They're not on the island all the time, only now and again. They go do their own thing most of the time. But Jason once told Alan that he gives off a certain aura that calls out to ghosts if they're close enough. Jason followed Alan home from a rescue. God knows where Renick came from.
Even looking at Virgils art can cause a wave of calm to wash over the looker. He says he paints it with the intention of good thoughts and feelings, and uses calm, happy colours to seal the feeling
The main room and the medical Wing have his paintings on every single wall. Each of the boys also have one painting in their rooms. (It's of their 'birds).
John does research on areas Alan is sent to on the ground while they're on the way. If it has a history of a lot of deaths, or even a few violent ones, he tries to keep Alan next to the Birds or focusing on calming down civilians.
Alan likes space because there's rarely any ghosts up there
Scott once woke up, instantly predicted an intruder on tracy Island and demanded EOS to lock down the entire island. She did. John was stuck in the space elevator until he convinced EOS that HE was the intruder.
Gordon has a pack of dolphins he goes swimming with every morning. He even attended one of their funerals.
Gordon, swimming like a regular human, can win Olympic medals. Gordon, propelled by his powers, can easily break 70MPH underwater. It causes stress on his neck going that fast though, cause water pressure.
It actually pisses him off a lot. He can go that fast, he's so in tune with the water, can feel the microcurrents and the little temperature differences and knows when there's a predator in the area, and the water feels like home. This is the same water that he's limited in, can't go too deep too fast, and can't go too fast in general. He can skim the top of the water, though, head above it as fast as he wants. But the problem with that is he can't see cause it sprays in his eyes.
Virgil is present at every single business meeting Scott is at. For obvious reasons, and also to stop Scott from throwing a chair at the board of directors.
Alan tried to call their dad forward many times after his dissaperence, because his brothers begged him to. He didn't want to because he was afraid (of the fact he could, and the fact he couldn't). They stopped after the wrong things kept showing up, and felt horrible at the sight of their baby brother on his bedroom floor covering his ears every night.
Virgil slept with him for weeks.
John urges Captain Ridley and Brains to come up with new firewalls, and to make them as hard as possible. He likes the short challenge it poses. They hate how easy he breaks it apart.
Brains creates machines and nurtures them as his children. Then is dismayed when he finishes them and they already have John's code in their servers.
John is Mr steal-yo-girl when it comes to your technology fr.
Scott sometimes can't sleep because he gets flashes of calamities one after the other. Not even calamities, random wrong doings and bad news that happen to complete strangers. A child receiving a terminal diagnosis, a workplace accident, an amputation, a hit and run, a woman being followed home. One. After. The. Other.
It happens the most when he is stressed and exhausted, he's not so good then at pushing them back. It's like a movie montage you. cannot. Pause.
And he feels so godamn guilty because he sees these people, but across the ocean? He doesn't even know these people, their names, where they live. He can do nothing but pray for them.
Apart from the Hood, kayo, penelope and Parker, they've never met or known of anyone else who has gifts similar to them. They have a theory that Brandon Berringer has an ability. It's called 'dumb luck and impossible to kill'.
He once asked Alan if heaven and Hell were real. He backed off real quick feeling Virgils aura when Alan blanked out.
Alan is so very in tune with the spirit world, he's never known life as a normal kid. He knows things he isn't even sure the living should know.
Gordon's contact name for Alan is 'ouja board'
Virgil: Mr Happy or else
John: terminator
Scott: Crystal ball
Scott once threw Gordon across the room as a kid because he tried to climb a bookshelf. He only tried to use his telekinesis to lower him to the floor. He was horrified. His dad was horrified. Gordon asked to go again.
Gordon hears the last thoughts of marine life caught in nets. One time after a short rescue, they browsed through a local market, and there were live crabs, crayfish and octopuses being cooked in boiling water. He said they were so afraid all they could say was "help". A few of them thought of their mothers as they died because it was their first protection in life, and wanted her to come back again to protect them from the threat.
Gordon does not eat any type of fish anymore, and encourages his brothers to do the same. They try not to in his company
Virgil has to clean his aura a lot. Think of it as a sticky hand. Like when he throws it out to hit away others bad feelings, he brings a little bit of it back with him. He likes to take a quiet hour or two to himself in his room to comb through his aura and make it all clean again. Make sure all the feelings he has are his.
Not all ghosts are bad. But almost all of them are eager to talk to Alan when they're together. They haven't talked to the living in a very long time and it gets very overwhelming when you have multiple ghosts trying to get you to talk to them.
If Alan tries very hard, he can make them go away
