leviticus resonates more with me the longer i sit and think about it like oh... the fear and the guilt and the shame is always going to follow you in one way or another because the thing you've been made to fear is who you are. in a way though this aspect of the film represents what being queer means to me— being brave enough to love someone (!!!) even when everyone else has taught you to be scared

oliver marks went to prison to protect james. he was not ready to give up college for his sister, but willingly went to 10 yrs in prison for james. he said "It’s not the whole truth. The whole truth is, I’m in love with him still" after 10yrs of suffering. and some y'all are settling for ppl who believe long distance doesn't work. they were separated for 10 fucking years and oliver was still was in love with james.

i think out of everyone James' story is the saddest. He was so full of life and potential but the second Richard held him under that water, he changed. A part of him died that night.
