Hello!!!! I think just lots of reseach, specially in the astrology part, any help its good. I read a lot when it comes to birth charts, i recommend The Inner Sky by Steven Forrest, it helped me a lot to learn how the planets and everything intereacts with one another in the charts. About protection spells i recommend to see what you feel most comfortable doing, some people like more practical spells that focuses more on doing practical things, others like more spiritual practices, etc. It is a matter of finding which type of magic you would like to practice!
