Punch needle abstract yarn painting.
Overall, October has not been the greatest month for my mental health. Which is strange considering anything scary and spooky is my go to for “fun”. If I were to be completely open about my month a good portion of it has been laid out on the couch watching reruns of Ghost Adventures. That’s not to say I haven’t done anything. I’ve made some paper, books, and have kept up with my classes. Unfortunately, these small task seem like huge hurdles when you’re feeling down. But enough of that, onward to my favorites! We are planning on moving soon so I’ve had to limit spending. I did, however, buy a few things (and added a sh*t ton of others to my wishlist).
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Tarot Card Shirt: If you know me then you know how much I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Add in the tarot card look and it’s to perfect. I want one in all the colors! -Don’t know what to call these- gold hangers: These gold flower/mandala hangers are probably my favorite earrings/plugs that I have. They say “weights” in the overly long and jumbled name on Amazon, but they are not all that heavy. (8mm) Rose Gold Saddles: Coming in second for my favorite earrings/plugs are these rose gold saddles. A little less comfortable to wear, but the look of them is lovely. To be honest I’ve gotten tired of plugs and these saddles/hangers are going to start being my go to for my ears. (12mm) Skinfood Egg White Pore Mask: I have never had a mask that made my skin feel so soft! I have a combination of oily and dry and it’s really evened everything out. Because I have been a little more depressed lately doing anything is a chore, but I look forward to putting on this mask each night.
In the realm of paper and book making...I played around with recycled McDonalds bags and made this beautiful brown paper with red and yellow specks floating throughout. Perfect autumnal colors. I would love to produce more of these but two bags only makes three sheets of 7"x10" and I am definitely not a big enough McDonalds fan.
I would love to be able to make this hobby into something more, however I don't even know where to start in that aspect so for now my shelves will just gather more and more things. Maybe one day I'll make an Etsy.
Simple watercolor to go with a pair of hands I did a while back.
Fun textured speckled paper.
Happy Halloween....even though I make these guys all year long haha
Slowly getting back into embroidery by finishing up this corpse flower.
Finished handmade papers on their way to becoming a journal. The cover for the journal is currently drying, but is also also created from recycled materials.
Spider babies
Created a beautiful bright red paper this morning. My intention is to create a line of papers that match the falling leaves. I might go foraging tomorrow for leaves to press that I can then incorporate in the papers.
