I just CANNOT imagine reading The Vampire Lestat and deciding the most interesting parts, the ones worth actively expanding on and adapting for the screen, are the ones aaaaaall about the Rock Star Framing Device Around The Actually Interesting Story. All, like, two chapters of it in a 500+ pages long book.

#i haven't watched the new episode yet but 😮‍💨😮‍💨#and the whole point is that he's gearing up for ONE SHOW #there was no tour!!#like how did the queen of the damned film adapt the rock star bits better #whatever genre these songs are does not seem the type to draw in vampire freak fans!!#i keep thinking about the season being framed around the making of his music videos #doppelgangers seem to be a theme this season. have the same actors playing the music video actors + the people from lestats past #like that could be wear louis finds regina. she's the claudia actress from lestat's music video #you wouldn't even need a high budget. we could see the sets while we're in modern day. we could see them being put together like a play #and then when its flashback time we zoom in on the set. the colouring changes and bam! we see what really happened vs the music video #it can also explain why gabrielle is there. no one but lestat knows she's the only person besides him playing herself #the only actor who is different is armand and lestat brings him on set to flant around the young pretty boy who doesn't look like him #(and daniel and lestat are fucking the pretty boy actor)#anyway i have been trying to hold my tongue and watch the whole season before i form an opinion #but i know marius is coming up & he's my fav character in the whole series and i'm afraid i'll reach my boiling point when i watch tomorrow #AND ANOTHER THING!!#without music videos what is marius showing akasha #is she forced to watch tiktoks of lestat's shitty live shows on marius's phone #i would decide to kill all men too
