harry potter’s real soulmate was ron weasley. ron was the first friend of his age he ever had, magical AND muggle. harry chose ron, time and time again, from the first day he met him. harry grew up in a physically and mentally abusive household, but in the entire series his misery is described in the most detail when ron wasn’t talking to him. harry himself says that the worst time of his life as when ron wasn’t talking to him. ron was the one person harry would miss most if he was gone during the triwizard tournament. ron left behind his entire family to help harry fight the losing fight. they went into the ministry together as aurors, just like they had going into everything in hogwarts. he even married ron’s sister and became his family, legally. harry loved ron.

I’ve always wondered why Ron x Harry isn’t a more popular ship. The main character x his best friend is almost always one of the most dominant ships in a fandom, if not the most dominant. But instead, Harry’s most popular gay ships are with Draco and even Tom/Voldemort. Which, as a book reader, is just so strange so me. Ronarry has a lot of chemistry.

But then I remembered that the movies absolutely BUTCHER Ron’s personality and turn him into a literal joke. And it all made sense. Obviously Ronarry isn’t popular when movie watchers have to work with that material. But this gives me hope for the show. Just from the trailer alone, they seem to be focusing more on Harry and Ron’s friendship. Ron will finally get justice. And I think that will make Ronarry much, much more popular.

“Everything hurts,” Ron remarked in a grumble, his voice muffled against Harry’s neck. 

“Maybe you should have stretched before practice the way I told you to,” Harry countered, brushing a hand through his boyfriend’s sweat-matted hair absently and shifting against the pillows behind him. 

“Right.” A derisive snort against his skin made Harry shudder a little, eyes fluttering shut. “Because I’m really going to listen to you, Captain.”

Harry cracked a half smile and twisted a strand of ginger hair around one finger distractedly. “Call me that again,” he requested in a murmur.

Ron rolled his eyes and Harry shivered again at the soft brush of eyelash against him. “Everything hurts,” he repeated. “Why don’t you fix that for me… Captain?”

Harry grinned and released Ron’s hair, arm looping around his waist instead and drawing him closer before his hands fell to his boyfriend’s shoulders and began to softly knead into the tightly knotted muscles there.

“Stretch next time,” he said, bending his head so his lips brushed the back of Ron’s ear as he spoke, making it Ron’s turn to shudder.
