1.Honeykit was born to ThunderClan. After some moons, she remembered her past lives. And the exile of SkyClan. And to her horror, she realised that no-one had mentioned SkyClan even once during her current life. She tried to ask about it without sounding too suspicious; she asked if there really were four Clans. Everyone confirmed this and even questioned her for asking. She couldn't believe it! Not only had the other Clans coldly turned away from SkyClan when they needed help but they had even erased them from history completely! Honeykit started feeling resentment and distrust against the Clans. She vowed to never forget SkyClan but she resented that she couldn't bring it up. After all, who would believe her?
2.Moons passed and she was now a warrior named Honeyshade. She still felt distrusting of the Clans around her but she had gained some friends she felt she could trust. After all, these weren't the cats who had erased SkyClan.
One tom in particular stood out to her; a Clanmate named Wolfstorm.
As Hayheart, he had been pretty popular among his Clan, so he'd had some suitors. But still heartbroken over losing Sandyfur, he turned them all down. Now, as Honeyshade, she felt ready to love again. She opened herself up to Wolfstorm and he returned those feelings. He was pretty much the opposite of Sandyfur: he was introverted, he didn't speak much, he was rough around the edges and seemed easily irritable. But maybe that's why Honeyshade was able to love him; the feelings were similar but Wolfstorm himself didn't remind her of her past mate.
3.Honeyshade still missed SkyClan dearly. The forest didn't seem the same to her anymore. Even after moons, it still felt lonely and just... Wrong. She would avoid going near the twoleg place if she could, it only hurt her. That was where SkyClan used to live and now twolegs had taken over it, just like that.
She wanted to talk about her longing but couldn't say it without sounding like she'd lost it. So instead, she would look up at the sky and tell her mate how she missed it. He, of course, couldn't really understand what she meant. After all, the sky was still there, just as it had always been. He got the feeling that there was something in Honeyshade's heart that she couldn't quite put into words, so he just sat by her and listened. He listened her talk about the sky, how brave and resilient it was, how overpowering it could be but how it belonged here, just like the forest, rivers and fields. He listened, wanting to understand, even just a little bit.
4.The era Honeyshade was born in was the era of Mapleshade. And so she got to see the she-cat's exile with her own eyes. She couldn't believe it, couldn't understand. She remembered a time where it was normal to have mates in another Clan. And now, Mapleshade and her young kits were being exiled, for what exactly? For loving the "wrong" cat? Honeyshade couldn't understand that or the pure hatred her Clanmates spat at Mapleshade. And her kits. The kits were innocent. Wasn't it part of the warrior code to protect kits, even outside your own Clan? And now the leader and healer, and all the warriors, were exiling and thus endangering kits for no reason! The cats were letting their bias, their hate for RiverClan, blind them.
But even when Honeyshade felt it was all wrong, she couldn't bring herself to stand up for Mapleshade. What if she was exiled, too? She had friends and family here. And more importantly, she was sure she was pregnant. She couldn't risk exile now. So she kept her mouth shut, though she felt awful about it.
After she learned about Mapleshade's kits' deaths, the guilt hit her hard. She felt like she could've prevented it. What if she'd been able to persuade Oakstar into letting the kits stay? What if she'd gone with Mapleshade and had prevented her from crossing the river? From that moment on, she vowed to always stand up for those she believed had been wronged.
5.Honeyshade's birthing was long, hard and eventually lead to her death. She lost too much blood and there was nothing that could be done.
Wolfstorm was devastated. Honeyshade had been the only cat he felt he could trust, that he could get close to. Utterly heartbroken, he wanted to abandon everything and run away. But he knew he couldn't do that to their kits. Honeyshade had been so excited to be a mother, she would want him to take care of the kits. So he did his best to not resent them; it wasn't their fault their mother had died. Out of love for his mate, he named all their kits after her; Shadekit, Skykit and Honeykit. Shade and Honey obviously after her name and Sky after her odd but mesmerizing love and longing for the sky.
