of course, x6-88 is around! he and ms. director have been traveling together for a while now, ever since she became director pretty much. he loves traveling with her and strong, even though he does love to complain, as well. he's definitely wondering why strong gave her a flower and not him...
i have this joke i always say that ms. director was an english/art history major back in the old world and maybe she even taught a little shakespeare at one point. when she and x6 meet strong, she realizes he's a sensitive soul and he needs to be exposed to more art and culture, and she's just the person to do this for him. it's a return to her roots. it's something she actually knows, unlike institute operations where she just kinda wings it (which is exactly what shaun wanted) (also this is the beginning of the inspiration for her personal experiments at the institute on making sensitive, poetic, artistic super mutants).
so there they all are, ms. director with her fav boys strong and x6, taking a stroll on spectacle island. strong has ventured a little off, as usual. x6 and ms. director continue to explore the island, searching for enemies and scouting the land for institute development. after a while, ms. director notices strong approaching her, holding a single hubflower; he plucked it as carefully as he could so as not to destroy it before he shows her. it reminds her of the way a little child gives their mother a flower. she holds onto it the rest of the evening, and puts it in her bag at night to preserve it later.
ms. director has come to love strong and x6 so much. she feels a sense of motherhood toward many third gen synths and this is basically how she can tell synths apart from humans; it's literally a sense she has (that she couldn't explain before learning about the institute, she just had this strange innate affection towards certain individuals who turned out to be synths, such as danse and magnolia). she also feels motherly toward all her robotic creations; and, now, toward strong and her other super mutant experiments.
even though shaun is dead, she can still be a mom in some kind of way :)

this scene is an idea i've had pretty much ever since i met strong, inspired by an irl moment that happened to me; basically, i was in a lavender field and someone plucked a lavender flower and gave it to me ~ but i wasn't motivated to draw it until my TWIN also did the idea after i requested it and it was so beautiful and happy. i think everyone should draw this moment for all characters, it makes me happy :) maybe one day i'll do smth similar with my skyrim characters. (not hiljas with her boys tho bc she'd beat their asses for giving her a flower.. "what, you think i'm some dainty alchemist?" by talos, vilkas or farkas, she's a warrior of jorrvaskr!)
and i probably say it a lot but yeah ms. director has completely lost her marbles so that's why she is the way she is 💜
accidentally typed "the institute's fav experiments" instead of "the institute's fev experiments" now i'm imagining ms. director writing in her journal about her favorite super mutants and synths she's been experimenting on recently ~
here's my boy, his name is coldheart. he loves animals and sunny days.
he's nocturnal, and animals are afraid of him.
coldheart is one of ms. director's (my sole survivor, the institute director) personal experiments. ever since she met strong, she has a fascination with introducing super mutants to art and literature. so, she's reopened the FEV lab at the institute for her own interests.
like strong, coldheart is very sensitive and romantic, and he loves to quote poetry (these are what ms. director considers to be strong's defining traits. she's crazy). he can even read. he's intelligent enough to speak in grammatically correct english, but his sentences are still very short.
he loves to go outside and bask in the sunlight, but it makes him very sleepy.
he won't eat animals unless he's starving. of course, he does kill and eat humans. he especially loves to eat children.
i'd love to see if anyone else has a super mutant oc!! or maybe i can draw some more ;3c i'll probably create more at some point anyway bc ms. director likes making these guys lol. i think her next experiment will be teaching a super mutant to paint :P
