Haejin was, in all honesty, not the type to keep pets. Despite that, he knew quite a lot about them since he managed to find himself taking care of a large and evergrowing group of strays. Maybe he should have thought about how feeding them constantly would turn out but he needed his act to be believable. Plus, he didnât want to admit it butâŠ.he grew fond of them all. They were somewhat his companions, he suppose.
Animals had to go through quite the same things as ghouls did after all, hunting and being hunted, trying to surviveâŠthen again, ghouls were simply just species and all species go through the same thing. A depressing thought, but an unfortunate truth.
That wasnât what was important currently, though. Holding the bag of meat for the day, along with some others that he found out that they enjoyed, he started to feed the bunch of strays. A moment where both cats and dogs and rats and others alike rejoice in harmony as food was bestowed upon them without the need to feel fear or doing any hard work to gain it. He realized heâs spoiling them, but does that really do any harm? Well, it could, but getting spoiled by someone else would be a nice feeling to have.
It was a sign of live after all, and everyone wanted to be lived at least once.
From the corner of his eyes, he spotted a girl he had never seen before. He blinked, but then looked back to the strays. He wouldnât bother with her unless she attacked him or started a conversation with him.
lee seon was arguably the least capable member of the quinx squad.
there was no use denying it either, not when it was so blatantly obvious. her only strengths were her brute force and high regenerative abilities, but those were typical traits found in any ghoul (or half-ghoul) gifted with a rinkaku. compared to jaebumâs cleverness, seolhyunâs natural talent and eunjaeâs overall skillâhowever hotheaded he wasâseon was the awkward, misplaced stepchild that baked too often and had too much christmas spirit.Â
they like her though, at least thatâs what she tells herself. (whenever she opened the door to their shared apartment, it felt like home.) no one would endure her and her âmandatoryâ squad dinners for this long without possessing some sort of affection for her. the endearing one, the dumb one. her careerâs foundation consisted of a series of impossibly lucky accomplishments that fooled the upper echelon into thinking she was actually skilled.
hence why they decided it was fitting for her to conduct a quick interview (read: interrogation) with a ghoul imprisoned in the cochlea, which thankfully, produced substantial results. enough to please the first class investigator in need of the information, that is. and now here she was roaming in plainclothes through the thirteenth ward on her way back home, suit and heels carefully folded and tucked into her messenger bag. they were too uncomfortable, too adult, and her sneakers were far kinder and cuter on her feet.
cuter, because after five minutes of being distracted by the man feeding kittens and cats a few feet ahead, she looks down to see a feline toying with her white shoelaces.
âoh,â she exclaims, blinking owlishly at the little vandaliser. âhello, little one! did you just finish eating? ah, excuse me sir! is this cat yours?â
