also as a side note - a lot of people are trying to sow division between the asian and black community and it's very important to me that we do not let white supremacy divide us - we have a long, rich history of solidarity during the civil rights movement which has been buried in order to prop up the model minority myth, and the dismantling of anti-blackness in the asian community is integral work to be done - solidarity and collective resistance (and revolution) is the only way to move forward
I want to rage, to erase this crushing sense of helplessness in my lungs. To snarl instead of sobbing. I wanted to be shocked at this injustice. To be surprised and treat this as a horrific incident and not just a symptom of a bigger problem.
But I've witnessed how racist bigots reacted to Floyd, the instinctive racist response and "jokes" when people identified China as the one who was at fault with the whole COVID-situation, and how I immediately thought that those "low-key" racist thoughts will escalate someday to deadly actions. I listened to some of my friends when they said that I'm exaggerating.
And I wish- I wish I was. I wished that they were right and I was wrong. But look at our bloodied history. Look at where we are now.
One step forward, eight bloody steps back.
....stay safe.

My offering on this day of Venus is a view into my drawing process from start to finish. đș Aconite, commonly known as Monkshood, is renown for being one of the most poisonous plants on earth. The Greek term âlycoctonumâ was used to refer to perennials of the genus Aconitum. The term translates to âWolfâs baneâ and comes from the many canine-centered myths and legends that shroud this plant in mystery. Some say it was spawned from the spit of Cereberus, the three-headed dog that guards the gates of the underworld. Other tales tell that the plantâs poison was used on arrowheads when hunting wolves. Still, other stories tell of Wolfsbaneâs aid as an antidote to those who have become werewolves! Apart from its association with the canine realm, Monkshood also has strong ties to Venus and water. In some places, it is called âChariot of Venusâ and Iâve woven this lore into my drawing by way of the womb-like cauldron emblazoned with the pentagram, a symbol that, here, alludes to Venus and the planetâs unusual star-shaped orbital path. âš Hope you enjoy these glimpses into my process! âš{Drawing tools: Staedtler Mars drafting mechanical pencil with 2B lead, Sakura black pigma micron pens, Staedtler Mars white eraser, Strathmore sketchbook} #poisonappleprintshop #monkshood #aconite #wolfsbane #poisongarden #poisonousplants #chariotofvenus #sketchbook https://www.instagram.com/p/CMUx8oVHFP8/?igshid=q00mo2n5xzgc

Honestly? Goals
I donât think bombing civilians in war torn countries is an unfortunate necessity like it literally doesnât have to happen and I donât understand how people can be so indifferent about it if their team is doing it....you know 90% of the victims of Obamaâs air strikes were civilians. And civilian means woman, girl, or male child under fighting age. Adult men werenât counted towards civilian death tolls. So the actual civilian death toll is closer to 100%. Our military is literally a terrorist organization and nobody cares as long as the president is a decent orator. All of those people are just as real as you are. A million innocent people have died as a result of the Iraq war both directly and indirectly and only a handful of us seem to lose any sleep over the fact that this terrorism is done in our names witn our money. People talk about them like theyâre cockroaches. It makes me sick to my stomach
Terrible.
If you liked that enviable Victorian sword perfume bottle I posted a few years ago, youâll LOVE this late Victorian miniature sword. Like the perfume bottle, this is also fitted to hang on a chatelaine, and would have been used as a letter opener. Sold by The Eden Collective.
