The king of winter collections presented his “L’Hiver Russe” (Russian Winter) collection in Paris, France during March of 1985. This collection featured combinations of leather, sequins, silk, and furs while honing in on accentuated shoulders and his signature clean silhouette.
40 years later, pieces of this collection continue to be worn in the limelight- recently showcased by Doja Cat in her “Jealous Type” music video.

Happy Birthday John Galliano
F/W 1994, the show that launched his career.
Galliano was sleeping on his friend’s floor with hardly anything to his name, but pulled this show together last minute to showcase his talent for Anna Wintour. He combined East and West Japanese influences with 1940’s technique, which was carried out by close friends and supporters. This ended up being Wintour’s all time favorite collection.
The following year Galliano landed his first job as the creative director of Givenchy, making him the first British designer to work under a French fashion house.
