How you get death threats for this blog? All you've done is anonymously shown people's confessions.

there was actually quite a lot of drama on here back in the day

when i first started out i made a joke about a confession (which i shouldnt have) and people got really mad at me over that

also there were a few people concerned this blog was just starting drama in the fandom, due to a surge of confessions about the fandom itself. some people were polite with their concerns... others were less so. there was also a lot of issues over negative vs positive confessions.

it was a big ol mess at points and it took a huge toll on my mental health, especially as i had to be entirely Unbiased and thouroughly monitor stuff so no one saw any form of gt that triggered them. plus in my experience with running different fandom confessionals, anonyminity is a hell of a drug for some people, and you’ll get all kinds of threats and lewd messages as long as people can hide behind an anon.

Okay, so, this blog has been dead for a while but I’m planning on making it undead.

HOWEVER, I’m gonna be making some changes

I’m gonna be re-hauling the rules, being a little tighter in some aspects and a little lax in others, I’ll elaborate on that more when I have the new rules typed up. Overall, I’m looking to make this post more of a comfortable place to share your thoughts, rather than a barely-under-control tense mess. I’ve always wanted this blog to be a safe place, and the new rules will reflect that.

I now have a co-mod! They’ll be helping me make posts and make other decisions. Hopefully things will be going smoother with two mods in the mix.

When I’m ready to start accepting submissions again, I’m going to be deleting all old posts from this blog, and the unposted ones in the inbox. I know losing all that content will suck in some aspects, but at the same time there were a lot of discourse-inducing posts that I rather were deleted, simply so going forward no one can dredge up old posts and start drama that should be laid to rest. I want a totally fresh start for this blog, and I feel that this is the best way to move forward with a clean slate.

As for now, if you have any opinions on how I should proceed or any thoughts on these changes, feel free to send them in! Please do not submit confessions just yet, as I won’t be posting any until I redraft the rules and clean up former posts.

Lately I’ve been going through a tough time, and I more or less took a break for my mental health. It went on longer than expected though, life’s been hard lately :/. Plus there was a ton of drama that came from this blog, which a few people took out on me personally, so I had to take a step back.

For me though, things have been getting a touch better! I think soon I’ll be okay enough to return. I’ve also been considering the idea of getting another mod - or if I turn out to not be able to handle this, passing it on to someone else. It might be a bit longer before I come to a decision though, I want to focus on getting mentally healthy again first.

I’m so sorry about the long hiatus tho! But thank you again for this this is so sweet <3

Currently going on a brief hiatus, personal issues sprung up and I have to take care of that. However, when I come back I'll probably start looking into finding another mod, as this blog is far too much to handle alone currently. I'll make a post with more details regarding that when I return.
