Really struggled with iruma on this one. I was trying to make him cute without looking girly, but also keep his ahoge. Coloring him was also difficult.

I tried to keep their color palettes green blue n pink, even the shadows lol.

Sometimes I think about how Rose Quartz / Pink Diamond is someones (Rebecca’s) clearly beloved OC. Rebecca clearly loves her; their youtube is full of her, they seem to have a thousand sketches of her, there is so much love in how they talk about her. Rose Quartz was a labor of love, a beautiful morally complex goddess who wants, more than anything, to change, and is so deeply afflicted with self hate that she stunts herself, makes herself unable to believe in her capacity too. I read or listen to how they talk about her, and I realize Rose Quartz was so loved by her creator, and she never knew, she never knew she was made because someone wanted her to exists and loved her too.

….And then I think about the fandom reaction to Rose, and I think about how much I love my own OCs, and how it would drive me absolutely bonkers mad to see people so very much Not Get It and demonize her instead— and I’m like, Brother, Forget About Pearl, I, The Writer, Would Be On The Goddamn News,
